Then the rain stopped and the roads dried up quick, and an Aussie won. Men's race was pretty exciting with 170 guys starting, but probably half were cut within 8 or 9 laps. There was one guy riding a steel lugged bike!

The Giro Di Burnaby was pretty good! Did you see the crash during the last lap of the men's race? Both riders were sprinting hard out of saddle and clipped each other. Looked like one hit the pavement harder than the other, may have dislocated his shoulder FeelsBadMan

Nice Fondo ride 604Cefiro! mirin' the strava stats lol

I too am thinking about getting one.

dat_steve 07-15-2016 10:27 AM

i've got one (from bikes direct). it's a great frame/geo and the stock parts (that matter) aren't too shabby.

TurboTalon 07-15-2016 11:57 AM

what size do you have?

bcrdukes 07-15-2016 12:44 PM

Make sure you check the geometry chart!

TurboTalon 07-15-2016 01:03 PM

I'm pretty sure I am a 50, but can't decide over the 47. I currently ride a 2014 supersix in a 50 and a 2016 brodie remo in a 51

bcrdukes 07-15-2016 01:11 PM

if I recall correctly, dat_steve mentioned to me that a 50 is more like a 52.5 or a 53 (TT length.) Track bike geometry is VERY different.

dat_steve 07-15-2016 01:25 PM

Yup, i'm on a 50 for the kilo. 5'7 ~31" inseam. i ride a 52 with a 100mm stem on my Caad10, which has a similar geo to the supersix i'd assume.

Isn't your Remus a single-speed? Is it a flat bar or drop bar one? You can just turn that into a fixie, no?

TurboTalon 07-15-2016 01:38 PM

DAMMIT, edited "remus" to "remo"

ya, so I still don't know which to get, I'm 5'5 with just a hair under 30" inseam. My evo has an 11cm stem on it.

So I found out why. Cycling 101 I guess. Tire to inflate close to 100 PSI - 120 PSI for the beads to pop and have the tire fit properly. Feel so stupid; lesson learned.

Thanks all for the great replies. And hopefully see ya out there in
The fixie world tubotalon :)

Yes, definitely that 2nd listing seems suspect to me. If you check all the ads, there's a number of bikes coming from that area (Powell Street area, not exactly the best part of town). I'm not saying that all are stolen from there, but given the prices they post...yeah. You can try to press him for more info, since he does say he's the original owner, then he should be able to produce a store receipt for you. See if the serial number matches. But even then, there's been cases of fake receipts. See if the serial number turns up on Garage 529, etc. Just be careful and do your due diligence.

Next time! I can't do the fondo this year. I was thinking long and hard but I gotta head to south korea for a wedding near the end of september and I didn't want to risk injury. I'll have to sin up early next year.

ZN6 07-17-2016 06:40 PM

Clocked in about 120km this weekend on the single. 5800ish for the year on the state bicycle and 1400ish on a mix of roubaix and ground control during the winter. Smacked my nike watch pretty hard and now it doesn't turn on :(. Any suggestions for an el cheapo bike computer? Sucks I can't keep track of my kms until I get another. Still on target for OVER NINE THOUSAAAAAAAAND before the end of the year.
