Did the triple crown today. Forgot to charge my Di2 since March and was I ever so lucky to have the FD run out of battery while on the 34 front chainring. The RD on the other hand was able to have some juice left in it to shift until I reached the top of Cypress |
Just saw some kid without a helmet and a backpack get busted. Possibly two scenarios: a) busted for not wearing a helmet b) busted for being a known bike thief with backpack full of bike parts and tools to lifting bike gear. I hope it's b and kid gets wrecked. |

LOL, we all came from mech groupos. Some of us are still there. |
DI2 way too baller for me :okay: |
I still have an 8-speed groupset :troll: (Actually it's true.) :okay: |

So today I finally cleaned up my Roubaix, and tuned it up and somehow when I ride it, I don't feel as engaged in it as I once did. Like, it's faster than my single gear in every way, climbing cruising etc, but it felt really relaxed even though the seat height is the same on both bikes and the stem is semi-slammed on both bikes. I dunno, something on my single gear just makes me wanna ride it rough and as hard as possible until my legs snap or the frame snaps. Anyone ever get that feeling where you fall far out of love with your old reliable? Somehow the roubaix feels like I moved back into a beach cruiser... Geometry for sure is involved, but I have no idea what it is I'm feeling. I was excited to get on it but once on, something doesn't feel quite right. |
^ wtf. I have a Roubaix too. Your body just got used to it that's why. Instead of my body compensating for an ill tuned bike; a tune up made me realize what a proper bike SHOULD run today (100km ride). |
What's a good beginner 100km route that goes from vancouver to richmond then back into dt van? Thanks |
I think a good ride through UBC via Marine Drive, over to Richmond in to Iona Beach, then off to Steveston and back should hit 100KM. Might have to snake through some extra streets and make a few stops for coffee along the way will do the trick. :) |
Want to do that next week, hopefully the weathers nice. I was thinking Stanley Park > up Cypress > Stanley Park > Spanish banks to Ubc > Richmond? (maybe straight to steveston) Anyone wanna join? Would be turtle pace cause I am 25lbs overweight. |
Anybody interested in Di2 ultegra 10 speed drivetrain kit? Works perfect, some cosmetic wear and tear to the shifters. Everything needed including an as new 11-28 cassette. Cheap! PM for details. |

Started at Flying Beaver YVR, UBC, down Spanish banks, Burrard bridge, Stanley park 1/2 loop, Lions Gate, up Grouse, down and exactly the same way back. That was 101.5km If you do NOT want to Grouse (12 km), then do Iona beach, Steveston and that should give you back to hit the 100km. |

It's time to slam that stem. :troll: |
Oh man, Team Sky destroyed the Tour de France. Some of the best team work in the TdF I've seen in recent years. Too bad for Quintana of Movistar. For those of you looking to get some new gear, POC bibshorts are pretty awesome. I'd say even better than Rapha bib shorts. |
Looking for advice. Doing ~70km rides twice a week & 100km rides once a month. Looking to go beyond 120 - 150km mark and hit another milestone. Proper nutrition, right gear and having the proper mental stamina is needed to hit that next level, any suggestions? |
Ride with 604CEFIRO. |
