Awesome great timing for the sale. Recently caught a nail in my Vittoria Corsa Tubular.

First time ordering from Ribble, what is their typical ETA on shipping? Custom charges?

the free shipping takes about 10 business days. i never got duty taxes from ribble (fingers crossed knock on wood)

[edit] for KASK fans... 20% off an already low retail price on their Mojito, Vertigo, and Protone helmets. Wish they had my color and size in the Protone... spotted this a day or two too late

[edit 2]

WOOP WOOP... this morning they didn't have the Black/white Protone in medium, but 1 popped up just now and snagged it. Woot woooooo

Locally its $365+12% = $408, and around the same price everywhere I've seen online.

We just snagged it up for $253 all in shipped free... damn i feel like i got a rippin deal LOL...

Been on a tear the last 2 days with rapha sale (bought jeans at 50% off), probikekit sale (lezyne cnc digital pump, KMC X10SL chain), ribble sale (protone helmet), and raceview cycles (vittoria G+ tires)

^sales been on for a week new items go on there every few days.

Price drop is coming probably next week and usually drops twice in 3 weeks. Buy ur items now, if price drops buy again and just return the first order, it's free DHL both ways. Buy extra sizes to try on and just return stuff that doesn't fit. I'll drop like $1500 then return like $1200 in stuff hahaha

hydraulic brakes is little heavier and cost a bit more compare with caliper brakes but it offer slightly shorter braking distance and more consistent in rain

conventional brakes are good enough if you are doing city and hill climbs

if anyone is currently tire shopping, pro bike kit is having a discount on multiples

10% if you buy 2 "tire2"
15% if you buy 4 "tire4"

the promotion doesn't cover twin packs though

Check RIBBLE first... as their sale price is way better. Ends tonight.

Example//

PBK - GP 4000s size 25c x (2) = $96.98 - $4.84 discount = $92.14

RIBBLE - GP 4000s size 25c x (2) = $81.17 - $16.23 = $73.34

Sounds about right. Since I'm a worrywart, i'll typically bring 3 tubes myself. Do you plan on riding there and back in one day?

Bus fare. If you're unlucky enough to flat 3 times in a ride, its time to call a day.

Patching is not hard, I prefer a traditional patch kit over carrying 1 or 2 extra tubes myself. There's the self adhesive stick on patches that are even eaiser to use, but I've had mixed luck with those. If I'm going to patch a tube I'll make sure its done right.

For a longer trip a patch kit can easily fix 10 flats. Carry a pump instead of CO2, it may take longer but you'll have peace of mind not running out of CO2.

^thanks guys..
We planned on doing whistler in 1 day (both ways). Turned out it was pouring rain like crazy with thunder and we had to call it off when we were about to head back.

I did carry 2 tubes and 2 CO2 and you're right, it did cross my mind on having a pump. Then again, if u have 3 punctures and you are with buddies and you're low on patches etc, you might as well call it a day to say let's go home.

know anyone where I can purchase these for cheap?

Clif Shot Shot Bloks Fast Pak? I mean aside from MEC; some has caffeine in them, and some don't (equivalent to 1 or 1/2 cup of coffee)

Also wondering. I have been buying them at MEC, at $2.55 per they are much cheaper than gels (they are basically = 2 gels) and I prefer eating them.

MEC is basically the cheapest for the Shot Bloks at $2.55 each. If you buy 12, then you get 10% off, which makes it $2.29 each.
2nd cheapest is Running Room selling at $42.99 for 18 (1 box).
You might get lucky at REI in the States if it's on sale as one of their 'Flavours of the week' specials, but with the exchange nowadays, might not be cheaper.

Rule number 101: Under no circumstance shall one don a fleece vest while cycling on a race bike. Or any bike. Or at any time, really...
