Hope everyone that did the fondo had a great time!
This year was extremely fast, probably because of the clear weather and no wind.
We had a mixed team of 8 (6 men 2 women) and was going for the mixed team win.
Sent 3 of our fastest guys out to smash it, they rolled through at 3hrs35mins.
The remaining 3 of us supported the 2 women and paced them to the line and we crossed at 4hr12min.
It was a great plan and we took the podium for the mixed team category! It was really awesome to end the season with a win at Whistler Gran Fondo |

On another note, I'm thinking of picking a Garmin 520 ..anyone have an idea where the cheapest place may be? Or if anyone is looking to sell theirs?

I may have a 170mm ultegra crank lying around at home that I can swap you. I'll have to check once I get home
EDIT: On another note, if the Garmin 520 is $399 CAD + taxes , you can score an 820 for roughly the same amount at ~$450 CAD delivered from eBay They send it via USPS too, so highly unlikely that get dinged

I gave a buddy 2 parts bikes today, thinking he could use the parts or even build them back up. When I got there, he threw them straight into the scrap metal dumpster! That was kind of annoying, as there were some good parts on there that I could have used down the line. Well, lesson learned, not going to give him any more bikes, I rather donate them to OCB, at least I know they'll recycle the parts.

Ribble bro
$329 plus 10% off code GARMIN10 free ship.
I found that I would never look at the maps. Most ppl I know went from the 810 to 510 after a while bc of the same reason. Garmin - Ribble Cycles Quote:

^ It's been going on for months.
1) i'm guilty for saying I haven't stopped for every single stop sign when it comes to riding.
2) last guy should be saying car back but he/she is usually a newbie and doesn't yell out or get passed down to the front.

That's why I tend to ride alone or no more than one or two friends who generally have good road manner. I fucking hate people who insist on riding side by side having to chat up or jerk each other off while on their bikes. Like, I get cycling is social, but so is drinking, and when you act up you're gonna get knocked the fuck out eventually.

Riding alone just doesn't do it for me anymore. I thought I accomplished well doing century rides & triple crown etc but I didn't know how or where to push myself as a newbie. Wasn't until after riding with a group that I realized I needed to learn how to draft, ride faster, push proper watts etc.
Again, guilty as a newbie and being in a riding group totally opened my eyes.

^ Have you club shopped? I've been riding with the same group since last year. It was fine then when I had 0 skills and was just new to the sport but I feel that its about time to find a group that will challenge & take my skills to new heights.
