Does anyone run road tubeless? Worth the extra money? I'm considering it for this season, looking at the Schwalbe Pro 1 or the Vittoria Corsa in 25mm.

Tube: this is standard so I won't talk about this.

Tubeless ready (with sealant): It's suppose to be good and it does help on small punctures, it does take TIME to seal. That's the only catch; you'll ride and the guy behind you will see you jisted on his face = puncture. Just gotta wait and let the sealant do its thing.

If it's at a point you need to swap, then it gets soooo dirty as you need to wipe off all the gunk before u put a tube in.

Tubeless ready (without sealant): I have another set; Giant OEM tires, no tube, no sealant inside. It rides fine. Will put in a tube when needed.

I'm not going back tubeless, just too dirty. I rather just swap the tube.

My buddy's stealth Black FACTOR 02 Disc was just stolen last night in White Rock. There is only 1 in BC, hard to miss. Size 56, Black INC wheels, Pioneer power meter, supacaz bar tape, Shimano R9170 di2 hydraulic groupset. If anyone happens to see it around (whether on the streets or on an ad online) alert the authorities!

Anyone here have good experiences from ordering from probikekit or chain reaction. Looking to grab some new pedals and it's much cheaper than local shops. Did a search online and reviews are pretty mixed.

Expresso 03-06-2018 09:45 AM

Nothing to complain about both are top notch.

As long as you expect your stuff within 4-8 weeks you will be fine.

whitev70r 03-06-2018 09:50 AM

Regarding UK based shops, I've had pretty big tariffs slapped on from Chain Reaction, after all said and done, I'd rather buy locally. Wasn't really worth it.

Expresso 03-06-2018 11:05 AM

What did you buy? Maybe 10% of the packages I order get taxed. Maybe CBSA hates you. :D

I should clarify, always use standard post via Canada Post. Any expedited shipping will get handed off to DHL or other couriers then yes be ready for heavy fees, but the bright side is you get your stuff quick.

unit 03-06-2018 12:07 PM

i've had nothing but good experiences ordering from wiggle and crc.
as expresso said, don't use tracked shipping even if it's free, you'll get dinged for tax and duties at the border for sure.

A few of the vendors / suppliers are clamping hard on grey market.

To a point where a few websites won't even allow to ship to USA / Canada

Expresso 03-06-2018 04:15 PM

^The only product I've seen that is the case is mainly SRAM.

whitev70r 03-06-2018 05:05 PM

So that's what I did wrong.

some Shimano can't ship via UK websites; been locked down really hard right now.

Zipp was one that got locked down from multiple websites when i tried to order 2 months ago.

bcrdukes 03-07-2018 04:39 AM

Zipp is owned by SRAM, so they have all the geographical restrictions on sales.

Expresso 03-16-2018 10:00 AM
