It's not the same as riding outdoor, tried it out not first me. On another note, manufacturers are putting power meters in the top tier bikes. Giant comes with shimano, and specialized comes with a rebranded 4i. What you guys think |
^it's going to kill other companies who are trying to come out with better Power meters. Then again, those top end clients, will most likely get Garmin PM pedals; this way you don't need to put them on all bikes. |
Anyone know where I can get a cardboard box to ship a bike? Preferably free or really cheap? Also, anyone have experience shipping a bike as checked luggage on Air Canada? How was your experience? Thanks! |
First thing that comes to mind, bike store? They must have lots after they build them up. |

Just curious about a bike I saw on Facebook. Trek SL 1000 road bike 50cm. Specs: Carbon fork Bontrager Affinity Saddle Continental gatorskin tires Masi brevity seatpost Wheels Shimano WH-R500 9 speed 11-28 cassette Triple crankset 30-42-52 Bontrager sport cranks Shimano tiagra rear and front derailleur Shimano tiagra rear and front brakes Shimano tiagra left and right briftera Bontrager sport 40cm dropbars Mostly looking for a summer commuter bike from baby to downtown and summer city riding. I don't know too much about road bikes, not sure how a bike with 9 gears would hold up with hills. |
^ it's fine, besides, you have the triple ring on the front. And the more you ride it, the stronger you'll be. |
lf a recommendation on a second bike for commuting...few hundred bucks if possible ...don't know what to look for in a used one |

I went against getting that bike since I'm not very knowledgeable with hike parts and can't tell if bike parts are new or very used. I've been looking at two bikes one from Bike Doctor $519.99 Norco VFR 4 other from Sport Junkie $639.99 Rocky Mountain RC I'm kinda torn, I do like the Rocky Mountain bike, since it does have a more touring frame and is up gradable, but the Norco is cheaper and functions well for city commuting in the summer. Any feedback? |

came across this today, made by giant, kinda of a weird mish-mash of parts (mtb with hybrid wheels) and only one size but an incredible value medium aluminum frame, suntour nex 6cm suspension fork, tektro discs, altus rear, tourney front 95% assembled online, you have to install handle bars and pedals, or find it fully-assembled in-store (they were assembled fine at the Willingdon location it seems, I know big boxes usually have a bad rep) https://www.costco.ca/Northrock-CTM-...100383740.html |
A lot of the bumpy roads in Stanley Park have been repaved :sweetjesus: |
For the rare times where you have to transport your road bikes (eg. to a fondo, race, or ride), what's the best bike rack that you have used and would highly recommend? I heard that the traditional kind where it is clamped and held by the top tube is not a good idea because it puts too much pressure and stress on the frame which means it has to be the rear hitch platform style that clamps it down by the wheels (would same reasoning be true if you have carbon wheels?). Thule, Yakima, and now I'm seeing the Kuat more ... some can get real $$$! |

I also have a hitch on my other vehicle and use a Yakima Highlite, which is really good, as it's lightweight yet secure. But if you're moving mountain bikes or non-traditional frames without a horizontal top tube, it can get tricky (or then you have to use frame adapters)..hence why the tray style rack is best in that case. Clamping down by the wheels is fine. My coach has a Thule T2 XT, with the add-on, so he carried 4 carbon bikes with carbon wheels down to Walla Walla & back with no issues. Good luck on your search! |
