Here is a pic of Stanley Park second beach on Monday. So many nice bikes...talk about a bike thief's dream heist https://pbs.twimg.com/media/A1_c1qoCMAAXi0g.jpg:large |
^probably a few hundred thousand worth of bikes just sitting there...no biggy! I don't think I'd ever race. I'd get my ass dropped so quick! Do they separate you guys based on cat or is it just an open entry type of deal? Quote:

Its an open entry...but they seperate us based on age and event (sprint or olympic). |
Can anyone recommend a good set of pannier bags for my bicycle for commuting? I will be commuting to school and will be carrying my textbooks, laptop and calculators through the rain. Currently, I am looking at the Ortlieb line of bags, but I was hoping there would be other bags out there with a similiar waterproof reputation but at a lower price. |
Just throwing it out there for all you rich ballers. Cinelli USA's webstore is selling their white Experience frameset for $575 USD (regular $799.) Columbus Airplane aluminum! :ahwow: I'm thinking of pulling the trigger but....not BB30! :okay: |
Finally bought myself a commuter/kid-hauler/road bike after finding several cracks in my trusty mid-90's Norco, although I think I'm more pumped to get my son on the run bike! http://img442.imageshack.us/img442/8156/001fgo.jpg |
^ Nice! I'm in the market for a cyclocross bike too. Did you buy that new and how much did that cost you, if you don't mind me asking? |
not gonna lie if they made one of those in adult sizing i might get one for the shits came across this on my newsfeed lol http://l2.yimg.com/bt/api/res/1.2/Px...w/BikeFliz.jpg New pedal-free bicycle relies on running momentum | The Sideshow - Yahoo! News |
Because real men shouldn't have to take advantage of mechanical advantage hahah... |
drivetrains are so mainstream |
that would be awesome for people learning how to ride a bike. use that to learn how to balance lol |

I did a nice 35k ride out to Iona and back yesterday. Is there a slight incline heading out once you're on the road with the UPS and all the construction? Either that or it was a strong headwind, but it was waaay easier leaving Iona. |
headwind most definitely :) sometimes it can get switched around though. Mike and alphamale - i think i might have just missed you guys this morning! did the stanley park loop at around 930 on the fixie. it was weird because i got up the prospect point hill a lot faster than i normally do on my road bike. |
FYI guys friends and family for Sportchek 26th and 27th of this month 25% off all regular price items 10% off sale.... Sept 27th is also Grand opening of Marine Drive Sportchek on Marine/Ontario 20% off entire store. Team assist will not stack with F/F, not sure about Marine's opening though. the 20% off at marine is off already reduced merchandise, so for road bikes that are currently 30% off....you would get additional 20% Not idea what their selection will be like, but I will be there to conduct some training seminars for that store prior to the opening so I can update you guys then. |
cool! probably going to pick up some cold weather gear. |
Shiiet. That may be where I finally buy my bike. |

We didn't hit Stanley Park until maybe about 10:45am. But all in all, that ride up Grouse was brutal, especially that last bit. Just before I hit the base of Grouse, my calves locked up with a muscle pull. I had to pull over to the side before I bailed. :okay: All in all, a good but brutal ride. Iona Beach - that headwind. Good God. I am tired.:ahwow: |
^Awesome! That is some serious distance, and the max speed is up there too! Got in a great 30km ride today in some summer-like heat. The new bike felt good, but man do I ever need a different seat asap. I didn't realize how sore I was until I got off the bike and walked around for a bit at the half way point....made getting back on a less than enjoyable experience (until everything numbed up again ;)) |
A question for you guys: how do you carry spares tubes/tools etc? I'm used to mountain biking with a pack full of stuff, but I'm guessing that is a faux-pas among roadies since I never see people with packs. Seat bags acceptable? |

If you haven't ridden in a while, this is normal. You'll get used to it. The only solution is to ride more! :D |
^frick I was going to comment on 85+km/h. Anything over 60 already feels too fast |
