I use a mini saddle bag to carry the essentials, a couple of tubes, tire levers, multitool, cash, driver's licence, Carecard. I use to carry a pump mounted to the frame, but now carry Co2 instead (I know, bad for the environment though). I also carry a spare tire under the bag...because you never know.
MEC has some saddle bags, I'm personally using a Topeak Small Wedge.
Otherwise, like the other poster said, carry all your stuff in your back pockets of your jersey.

If you're new to the bike/saddle, give it a few more rides and see if your butt breaks in, or if your saddle breaks in. Yes, it may hurt, but it might get better. Otherwise, another saddle 'may' work.
I try to buy a new saddle whenever they're on sale to give them a try...or try trading with a friend/co-worker, etc..

i just use a small saddle bag from med for my mini tool and keys

then i take my wallet and phone in the back pockets

same with an extra tube, pump, tire patch and levers,

thinking if i should get c02 as well.

So i had a weekend off and did a lot of google research... From now till next summer, I think I'm going to start piecing together a road bike using a china carbon frame / hongfu frame aka 'chinarillo's ... lol

A lot of info is out there about these, and majority of the ppl who have built one almost have nothing but positives to say about them.

Anyone on here put together a bike before? or had seen these types of frames?

You can probably get a nice carbon fiber frame from BikesDirect.com for $500 - $600 or from Pedal Force in California. The quality control is probably a lot better but I guess the bottom line is, the frame will probably come out of the same factory as the higher end bikes out there anyway. :D

Just out of curiosity why buy a cheap carbon frame for $500-$600 when you can buy a high quality aluminum one that often actually ends up being lighter?

I've been commuting everyday since June. And I do plan on riding into winter.. As long as its not frozen on the ground or snowing lol

Arm warmers, base layer, jersey, wind breaker, knee warmers and gloves for me every morning when I ride at 615am. It's chilly in the morning.

I got some merino jerseys and base layers from www.torm.cc which should be arriving soon.

I also got myself a showers pass elite 2.1 eVent jacket for when it starts to rain (refunded my showers pass trainers jacket).

i rode to work today with just a base layer, jersey, arm warmers, and my levi's commuter pants. legs were warm but upper body and fingers were cooooold.

Carbon offers a much better ride for longer rides! But personally I'd stick to a name brand, you know it's good, and will have a much better resale.

On second hand, those carbon frames look pretty sick!

Levi's Commuter pants are the shit. The only thing better would probably be these Outlier 4Season Pants.

there are always sales on the levi's commuters somwhere, whether in store or somewhere online. not hard to pick up a pair for less than $50!

those outlier get ups look sick. wish they didn't break the bank and then some though lol i'm going to start riding to work in my wingtips like the dude on the site. swanky.
