Whoa, that's pretty awesome, Ilagon! Which bike are you rocking? And is your brother back on his bike?

I started using clipless pedals just recently too. Crashed twice on the first day of using them lol. My goal is to climb either Grouse or Cypress without stopping by next summer. Quote:

If I remember right, it was $399 and came with decent parts, Shimano drivetrain, bladed spoke wheels. Its covered in Plastidip now so its pretty murdered out lol. I've had it for two years now but I think it's time for an upgrade.
My brother took his bike out around the block for a light ride, that's about it but I think he'll be good to go pretty soon!

Shiet you could probably jump a few spots on that Strava board on a bike with better shifters.
Nice work!

My understanding is they have dedicated noobie sessions but when 13 year old kids are lapping you...it's pretty discouraging.

god damn it. bike is making weird noises. when i stop pedaling either my hub, bb, or cranks make this knocking sound as the wheel spins. sounds like when you tap a frame with your knuckle. this only happens when cranks are in the 3-9 o'clock-ish position which is odd.
bugs the shit out of me but i don't feel paying a shop $70+ for a full overhaul when it could be a simple fix.
context: went to Westpoint cycles in kerrisdale in the past...wanted to fix a skipping chain and they ended up tuning the whole bike up. ended up happening again after a few hundred KM. did some research and it should have been a 2 minute cable tension adjustment after doing it myself.

Sounds like a classic BB30 problem. Happened to mine and GREddie's bikes. I think it's a 14mm.

If it's only at 3/9 o'clock it likely won't be your hubs. Could be crank/bb spindle as mentioned above, possible that the bb needs some grease in the threads and cup/frame interface (if you aren't using press fit bb's), chainring bolts lose/dry, or even a slightly worn pedal bearing/bushing. I had a click on my mtb at roughly the same revolution which took me forever to diagnose and it turned out the pedal bearing was worn; new pedals cured the problem.

I'm getting a bike fitting sometime next week at Pacific Multisport on Main & 28th. Will post details/results after. |

He works out of coquitlam....if you are interested in his information, i can take an effort to dig it up.

Last day all the way up Garbo in WBP... epic day and riding. And that thing behind me is a fog/cloud covering the village!
Second shot is from my GoPro while riding.
