for those that use cycling computers..which one do you recommend? currently just using the endomondo app on the phone, i've been looking at the cateye strada wireless RD300W or the cateye strada cadence RD200 or even the double wirless RD400DW, anyone use either have any reviews or other recommendations? worried that the cadence one will be too messy with all the wiring, but it does show the cadence, not sure how important that'll be, or get a cleaner setup with the wireless. thanks |
I'll be heading down to LA in a week or two for a month. If anybody is interested in getting some custom cycling gear done, I'm going to head down to Endo Customs in Downtown LA. Bobby Endo is responsible for making team kits from scratch - all in-house using Italian sourced materials. Take a look - CLNCUT: DESIRE TO INSPIRE | Endo Customs Would be neat to have a Team Revscene kit for 2013! If anybody is interested, reply! :) |
wow their work looks awesome, too newb on a bike to rep a revscene kit lol |
Never too newb! Look at 604CEFIRO - he went from newb to UCI cycling pro in less than a season@ :D |
haha I'm just recreational rider. But I do enjoy it very much. And it's always on my mind to upgrade parts on my bike. Never knew its so addicting lol. Never thought I'd like riding this much before buying my bike. Posted via RS Mobile |
^ I would say most of us are recreational as well (cept for azncreationz - this guy competes.) Regardless, it's always a good idea to have a good set of riding gear to take things further. :) |
thats true. just got myself a pair of pedals and cycling shoes. get ready for spring time lol. one upgrade at a time. |
kayceeee: congrats on the new toys. where did you find the discount codes? is it through website where you bought your stuff? or is there a certain website that has all the discount codes? i am looking to buy some stuff online as well, and it would be sweet to save some cash. |
its just on chain reaction cycles. You'll find the code on their homepage. Posted via RS Mobile |
Sugoi also does custom kit as well, I'm going to assume more affordably than the custom guy in LA. But minimum order is 24, and pricing is still not that cheap. , $60+ for a standard jersey. It'd be awesome to roll into a RS meet all kitted up on our bikes though |
Yeah, there is no way we will ever get 24 people. :fuckthatshit: |
Ordered myself a Travel Trac fluid trainer yesterday (house brand of performancebike.com), looking forward to some evening rides when the kids go to bed. |
how much did that run you? I'm looking for a trainer too but nothing too fancy. Just want to keep riding next few months and keep my bike in use Posted via RS Mobile |

Speaking of shipping to the border, I just signed up with Shell Gas Sip and Ship in Pt. Roberts, hopefully to avoid the sh*tstorm at The Letter Carrier. On that note, anyone looking for a 700c front wheel? I seem to have too many. Everyone keeping their eyes on JensonUSA and Chain Reaction these days? Some pretty good deals!! |
I was bummed to miss free shipping last week, but lucked out with 12 days of sales and20% over $100 which saved me more in the end. I try to avoid most bike websites because I am weak...and end up with an overabundance of gear ;) |

far from pro right here. i've noticed my quads have shrunk significantly since the summer *sigh bye bye riding legs |
Anybody looking for a good, lightweight set of wheels? BikeWagon.com has the 2010/2011 Reynolds Solitude wheelset for $280, no tax, with free shipping to Point Roberts or Blaine. For that price, it's hard to complain and nothing will come close to this. For reference, I had the old version of this wheelset, the Reynolds Alta and it was a pretty light wheelset and did pretty well for the entire season (I gave them back to my co-worker.) (The website looks sketchy but they're a legitimate business based out of North Salt Lake, Utah and my co-worker has ordered from them several times.) 2011 Reynolds Solitude 700c Alloy Road Wheelset 20/24 Clincher S10 - Bikewagon |
soooooo i couldnt hold back lol. made another impulse purchase. Elite Volare Mag Force Elastogel trainer http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/M...?ModelID=89087 and the Cateye Strada Cadence Double Wireless http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/M...?ModelID=58048 50 dollars coupon off from CRC. 213 shipped to my house. still waiting for first order for my pedals and shoes, should be here next week. |
I wouldn't mind getting an RSnet team jersey. It appears to be a small operation, and how they're printing and cutting their jerseys, it looks like they do short runs (< 24, 12, 6 pieces). I sent them a message, we'll see if they respond. I'm sure there's at least 6 of us here that would be game for buying one? And definitely, i'd be down to ride into an rsnet meet hahah. At this point, my bike is cooler than my car. But, judging from endo's facebook page, they haven't updated it since may 2012, so i wonder if they're still around? Quote:
