Picked up a pair of Northwave Typhoon Evo S.B.S. shoes from JensonUSA.com.

All I have to say is:

These shoes are a miles better than my entry-level/budget Sidi Nevada shoes (which are, by the way, pretty beat after one season.) Bottom line: You get what you pay for.

I think that's really just personal preference.

Most LBS' have an in house fitter.

La bicicletta did mine and I'm pretty happy with it. Mind you it came with a bike purchase. It includes one or two follow ups afterwards

kelyn did my fitting. Toms available for extra coin.

It's pretty important to get fitted once you clip in.

Personal opinion only:

If your budget allows it and you have the time to spare, I recommend a bike fitting. If you have cleats, at the very least, get a cleat fitting.

When I rode my 2010 Diamondback Podium 4 (my first road bike) it was uncomfortable in every way possible. I managed to get seat height and cleat position down but one thing I did not know or failed to recognize was the reach of the handlebar.

When I got my CAAD 10, I found out I needed a 110mm stem as opposed to the stock 90mm stem that came with the bike. After a few adjustments, all the uncomfortable pains on my knees, back, arms, and neck were gone. It made that much of a difference to have a proper bike fitting. I'd like to tell myself that switching to a newer and better bike allowed me to go faster and push my personal limits a bit further but in the end, I'm adamant that it was the bike fitting that helped the most. For example, I was maxing out at 27km/h on flats whereas now, I'm able to hammer down a solid sprint anywhere from 35-40km/h.

La Bicicletta, Mighty Riders, and Pacific Multisport come to mind. There's also Westpoint Cycles and Speed Theory that offer a fitting service.

So in the end, YMMV. Some people don't believe in them for whatever reasons they may have, be it financial, time, personal knowledge (because hey, we're all experts on the Interwebz, right?) but I highly encourage a bike fitting.

its not bad, installation was pretty easy, absolutely no clutter as its all wireless. the device itself is quite small so reading can be a bit hard, dont have anything else to compare to so to me its awesome lol. only used it on my trainer for one day.

BOXING DAY FYI's

If anyone spots any good deals going on for cycling goods post them up!

Here's what I just got in my email from Rapha.cc

25% Off the Classic Softshell Cycling Jacket
- using coupon code CLASSICO
- If you buy and ship to Point Roberts, WA the price is $375USD - 25% off = $281.25USD
- CDN price is $440 - 25% off

The jacket is out of the world expensive, but I have one, and I've also owned other softshells. Hands down, this thing is amazing. I wear it as often as I can. 100% wind proof, very breathable, been in 3.5hr downpour and held up well (i was soaked in the arms, but it kept me warm and dry in the body). Great autumn / winter jacket.

I know South Shore Cylces had a boxing day sale on some NOS bikes (I didn't go).
Today, I got a Mace Trigger helmet, a bike lock, a small Sigma LED light, and 20 aluminum spacers. ALL for $13.
Anyone need any aluminum headset spacers? 1-1/8" diameter. Let me know! Free to you regular posters.

MTB'ers, anybody have some extra parts kicking around? My winter build project needs a couple of small things:

-36 tooth 4 bolt bash guard
-front derailleur, 31.8 clamp (34.9 is ok) bottom pull, high or low clamp should be ok.

This is a pretty budget build so I'm not picky on brands and levels of parts, hopefully somebody has extras kicking around in a box they are willing to get rid of on the cheap.

Yep, I have a 36H, 4 bolt bash guard, brand new in package. PM me!
Don't think I have a front derailleur at the moment.

Oh Mike that sucks!! I haven't been on the bike as of late due to the accident and cold weather. Can't wait for warmer weather to get back on the saddle again.

New Shimano LX Deore, bottom pull, 34.9, low clamp. I need a high clamp instead. Yours for $20.
