Took the vitus out for a grocery run this morning at 10am. Was cloudy, roads were just damp. Half way out to the rain starts coming down.

No fender fail lol. Mud all up the ass, back, neck, crotch, face.

I'd actually like one again just to boot around. I sometimes don't feel comfortable locking my Cannondale up on the street, in fact, I absolutely hate that feeling knowing it could be stolen the moment you turn around and it's gone.

604CEFIRO - Do you have the Rapha base layer t-shirts?

Should be reasonable, all things said and considered but it's just a matter of who here is willing to fork up the money for it.

Let's get the ball rolling in time for Spring/Summer 2013!

How about this: We first have a sign up sheet to see who is interested and beside your name, punch in how much you're willing to spend up to in order for us to gauge costs and constraints. Team kits usually consist of either shorts/bib shorts and a jersey but we could just get a jersey. From there, we can then look at different vendors. Please be realistic in your expectations for costs. If we can actually garner enough interest, we could technically qualify as a "riding club" and from there, gain sponsorship from companies/shops for discounts etc. Remember - you get what you pay for.

For the sake of discussion, how about we put down how much you're willing to pay, including both shorts and jersey?

1. bcrdukes - $200 (but flexible)
2. 604CEFIRO - unlimited budget aka team sponsor
3. kayceeee - $200 (but flexible)
4. GReddy - $200 (but flexible)
5. dat_steve - $150 to $200
6.
7.
8.
9.
10.

Edit: E-mail sent to Castelli. Hope they respond!

604CEFIRO can pay for me with his unlimited budget.

Sorry, I'm out. Got too many bills as-is, and a lot of bike clothing already.

I "had" to buy a couple things last night, and spent some time comparing Wiggle vs. CRC vs. Local Bike Store...

I needed some inexpensive tires for my vintage bike, new tubes, new brake pads for my 105 focus, and a water bottle cage.

So i went with the following:
2 x Vittoria Rubino Clinchers
2 x Conti tubes
1 x SwissStop Flash Pro Black (2 pairs)
1 x Elite Bottle Cage

1.) CRC totalled $82.20 CAD + $9.99 CAD shipping = $92.19 CAD shipped

2.) Wiggle totalled $83.08 CAD including FREE shipping

3.) Local bike store totalled $160.00 including tax

So i went with the obvious choice, Wiggle, placed the order last night at 7pm. Order was processed and shipped out this morning at 1:32am with a tracking number. Scheduled to arrive next Friday the 8th.

How do you beat that!?!?!

So...I took the plunge.

I put in an order of the Rudy Project Rydon frame with prescription lenses. I'll do a full blown review once I receive them.

Hey guys, glad to see a bicycle thread! This is my Norco Indie (II I think?) It's a single gear with discs, changed the grips to have some more colour and threw on a Cyclepath decal. Bought this bike because of its simplicity and also the murdered out look. Haven't had the skill to change over to a fixed, don't really want to either.

Anyone downtown ever want to ride send me a PM! It'd be rad to have a bicycle meet downtown too!

Went for a casual/commuting ride on my Rapha jeans today.

This is my first ride on my bike with normal everyday clothes so this was a new experience. I find that the jeans are a little restricting in terms of flexibility in that you cannot move into the right positions to pick up big power or speed. Most of the restrictions stem at the waist and the thighs/knee area but again, I need to get used to this as they aren't bib shorts. Overall, pretty good. I would assume the Levi's commuter jeans or the Rapha trousers may be a little more flexible and comfortable to ride around in.

Any way, I made my stop in Hipsterville today and met up with Alphamale @ Gene Coffee Bar. I also met up with GReddy @ Pacific Multisport as he did his fitting on his CAAD10.

Spoiler!

So, I'm going to be doing a lot more commuting this year so anybody up for casual rides around town or to showboat at coffee shops, I'm down!

+1 on the gear, im up to about $150 if we're still doing it! 200 is fine depending on how healthy my account is that month :P

the only beef i had with my levi's commuters is that on my ride home i have a short but nasty hill up heather just before king ed and i really feel the pants limit me in terms of not being flexible enough and don't vent particularly well (duh)

oh and i'm down for coffee meets looking forward to the click-clacking chorus of cleats when strolling into a shop lol been itching to ride lately, i'm free tomorrow in the AM if anyone's down for a stroll

Still feeling blue over the theft of my '09 Giant STP 1 about a year and a half ago $700 down the drain. Would love to get a pre-owned STP for around $500 but dropping that kind of money on a bike isn't my top priority at the moment.

Taking that thing to the dirt jumps was extremely, extremely fun.
