Thanks to 604CEFIRO's tips, I did a high cadence ride today (no cadence computer, but that's coming sooner or later). Rode from my house to Ion and back, I wanted to do Steveston but I would be late for an appointment.
These are my stats. I need to get a HRM so I can get a accurate calorie reading.
The weather was awesome and there were a few cute girls that I rode by, woot. The headwind going into Iona was HEAVY. Coming back was a breeze though.
And the obligatory picture.

Sorry, nope!
However, if anybody is interested, I'm going to have to sell my Northwave Typhoon Evo S.B.S shoes in size 43. Worn less than 10 times, with a few scuff marks. $100 obo takes it.

I'm usually down to ride rain or shine, but as the weekend draws closer we'll figure something out. I'm game for saturday morning/afternoon.

How about this: We first have a sign up sheet to see who is interested and beside your name, punch in how much you're willing to spend up to in order for us to gauge costs and constraints. Team kits usually consist of either shorts/bib shorts and a jersey but we could just get a jersey. From there, we can then look at different vendors. Please be realistic in your expectations for costs. If we can actually garner enough interest, we could technically qualify as a "riding club" and from there, gain sponsorship from companies/shops for discounts etc. Remember - you get what you pay for.
For the sake of discussion, how about we put down how much you're willing to pay, including both shorts and jersey?
1. bcrdukes - $200 (but flexible)
2. 604CEFIRO - unlimited budget aka team sponsor
3. kayceeee - $200 (but flexible)
4. GReddy - $200 (but flexible)
5. dat_steve - $150 to $200
6. Alphamale
7.
8.
9.
10.
Edit: E-mail sent to Castelli. Hope they respond! | Just wanted to follow up to see if anybody is still interested? Castelli jerseys are about $100, give or take $20 or so but we need a minimum of 10. Jakroo's are a little cheaper and there is no minimum.
If not, we can forget it.

Would the jerseys be blank or printed with a riding club logo?
Also I could possibly ride Sunday.

They would be printed but we would need somebody to design it.

Yeah, bib shorts are gonna be anywhere from $80 to $100 as well. Sorry, I forgot about these.
Also, we need to come to an agreement as to we want on the design. It doesn't have to be say for example, "Team RS" or whatever. Could be "604CEFIRO is a beast" or "Alphamale is a troll"

Does anyone know if Strava app requires DATA to be on?
I gave up on recording rides last year bc my phone dies so quickly (iphone4)
But I just downloaded Strava. I was thinking on riding with Data off. Then when I'm done, turn it back and then save the ride
I just wanna make sure it'll still rank my segments etc after I upload. Posted via RS Mobile |

My Wiggle order showed up yesterday. Glad I read the reviews on the DHB jacket. The XL fits like a large, which is about right over a base layer.
Now I need some cycling shoes to go with my new clipless pedals.

You know what would be a grand idea?
We should all meet up at Oakland St and Royal Oak Ave and speed down that massive fucking hill. I clocked 72km/h the one and only time I did it. Almost rear ended a Merc ML LOL.
Here is the planned route. https://maps.google.com/maps?saddr=R...sz=16&t=m&z=16
Who's down? Then we can hill climb back up

Did the handling fee get charged at point of purchase or your doorstep?

Heh
That sounds fun! But is it a heavy traffic area?
There's lots of places with minimum traffic and long descents in the Vancity area Quote:

woah, didn't know there were some road riders on here. MAybe I'll join you on one of your rides some time.
If anyone is looking for a good bike to grow into, I'm getting rid of a Trek 1.9 (like a Cannondale CAAD) with Dura-Ace on it. Tuned and ready to go.
more details here on craiglist - listed for $1300, but can do $1200 for a fellow RS'er (or reasonable offer) http://vancouver.en.craigslist.ca/va...588056191.html |
