I have a couple pairs of drops I'm willing to sell. All new.
1. Race Face Cadence 31.8 x 42cm
2. Colnago anatomic 31.8 x 42cm
3. FSA Omega Ergo 31.8 x 40cm

I know this is not the 'for sale' thread, so PM me if you're interested. Otherwise, I would suggest you go to OCB or Ride On or Pedal Depot or North Shore Sports Swap to get a cheap pair, especially if you're going to chop them.

I just drove by an accident (Richmond) where a car mauled a cyclist. Unsure if he/she is okay or not.

See, i'd cycle more often, but i fear for my life with all these idiot drivers in Richmond

RayBot 05-15-2012 11:03 PM

I wish I can specify the details. It was at 5 Road and what would be equivalent to Francis. All I saw a guy laying on the side of thestreet with the paramedics just arriving at the scene. A blue Ford hit him. That's all I know.

DavidNguyen 05-15-2012 11:58 PM

Ouch. That's so scary. I'm always worried about gettin hit by a car

Got my first bike since highschool. The Dahon Mu P8 folding bike.
Took it out for the second time and I wiped out hard!!
Road rash on my palms =[...still fun though

triplexcel 05-16-2012 05:39 AM

Biked from north bby to dt for work today. Felt really nice ride in the morning.
But I don't think I'll be riding back home though lol.. too many cars. I'm gonna try to keep doing this for a minimum 2x a week.

I usually go for late night bike rides around seawall on the weekend. Very relaxing.
Also less cars and people to avoid :o

YES. More for your safety and enjoyment than anything else. If that was your last biking experience, you're not going to have a very good time at the Whistler Bike Park after spending $60+ for a lift ticket without some level of instruction

I enjoyed riding Whistler's park a lot more maybe about 6-7 years ago. But since then the trails have become catered to more advanced riders and the novice/intermediate trails that I like to ride don't justify the price of the lift ticket plus gas/time to get up there.

Thanks. It's one hell of a ride.

It's a 2012 Specialized Allez. Aluminium, not full carbon. Full 105 components.

Great ride.

Commerical:

It's not too bad if you stick to the Adanac Bike Route. Yes, cars still travel on the route, but there's plenty of cyclists as well so hopefully they notice you.
Ride safe!

I got into road biking last year. I managed to pick up a Triace (Taiwanese brand) from Wal Mart USA for 400 bucks. It came with a carbon fork, Shimano parts, and bladed spoke wheels. I've logged close to 600 kms on it so far and it's still holding up great. Sadly, I don't think Wal Mart sells it anymore. It would be a perfect bike for a newbie who wants to get into riding for cheap.

A couple of friends and I did an awesome bike ride a couple of weeks back. Started at Park and Tilford in North Van, took the low roads to Lions Gate, through Stanley Park to Pacific Blvd over Burrard Bridge, to Jericho beach through UBC, stopped at Jethro's for some eats, then back over Second Narrows. I think it was just over 80 kms. Nothing beats ripping through Vancouver on a sunny day and working up a good appetite!

dat_steve 05-18-2012 11:23 AM

that's a solid ride - my usual saturday morning route is home>iona>ubc>up kits for a coffee maybe>home

itching to buy a new bike so bad

GREddie 05-18-2012 08:59 PM

Sounds like we need to all go for a ride sometime.

I was hoping to ask if anyone can recommend a decent wireless bike computer that's at a reasonable price.

I went to Caps and got the allez for $1600. Yes that's a lot, but I wanted to splurge, esp since its a new model. The previous year models with the SRAM drivetain were like $1200. I demanded a full 105 component sent and thats why I got. I've been super happy with the bike so far although I wish it came with a carbon seatpost.

Super comfortable and fast ride. I did 113km last weekend and I wasn't tired at the end of it.

What app is that LiquidTurbo?

LiquidTurbo 05-19-2012 08:39 AM

It's called cyclemeter. It does everything a bike computer can except monitor cadence.
