Yeah I'm down to tackle anything. I may or may not make it, but I'll try. |
for the gym bros in here - anyone try preworkouts for a ride? i imagine it'd be helpful but i'm not sure if it'll make my HR go apeshit -aspiring doper :ilied: |
I've taken PWO for hockey before. For me, it does nothing. It only makes me more angry, hah. I can't concentrate as well and it definitely doesn't help cardio (I've taken it before running laps and doing circuits). But that's only for me. I've tried this with Musclepharm Assault. I like the original 1MR but unfortunately that stuff is not available anymore. I reacted very well that that PWO, being able to push harder and concentrate better. MP just isn't for me (although for lifting it does an okay job), I've tried whiteflood and I don't feel any pump at all. I will only be drinking coffee as my PWO for tomorrow. Please don't ride so fast, my legs are gonna cry after the ride. FML. |
good to know - it's me who should be worried lol. it'll be my longest ride of the season so far |
My per-ride drug of choice is 5hr energy extra strength ;) Will definitely make u go ape shit Posted via RS Mobile |
Mother son of a...Just geared up, stretched, ate and was ready to ride down to the Rogers Arena for tonight's Canucks game, not even half way down my alley - freakin' starts hailing?! :fuuuuu: So much for trying. :okay: 604CEFIRO - Do they offer lifetime tune-ups @ La Bicicletta if you buy a bike from them? |
Bicicletta allows two tune ups on the first year. After a bit of tinkering and reading park tools repair manuals, it's very easy to do your own derailleur and brake adjustments. Replacing chains, cassettes etc very easy. Unless its something more major like an overhaul, it's totally beneficial to learn to DIY Posted via RS Mobile |
Yeah learning to tune a bicycle is quite easy. . Cassettes and BB need special sockets but the rest is a basic allen key and crescent wrench. Re-greasing loose ball hubs is a pain, I don't recommend if you're frustrated easily. |
Okay thanks. I am thinking of the Marinoni Piuma for a commuter/trainer bike but waiting to see if Tom will accept my offer. :D Posted via RS Mobile |
You talking about the mariononi piuma that's listed at $800 something? That's frame only. I think they have a sportivo for just over $2k? Posted via RS Mobile |
It's messed up. They have a 46cm (which is a 52cm) for $1599. But the 52cm (which is like a 56cm) is $819 or whatever. They will sell the frame and fork for $749 or something. I threw Tom the offer of buying the 46cm if he'll sell it to me for $819 but I don't think they're willing to let go of it. I'm not a huge Campy fan so it's not a big deal. If the deal falls through, I'm probably gonna pick up a beater Ridley Icarus from Competitive Cyclist and leave it on the trainer to be destroyed. I entertained the idea of buying locally "just cuz" but it may not work to my advantage. :p |
604cefiro is a beast. homeboy dresses and rides like a rapha catalogue! |
Great ride today. Can't wait to do it again! Bike Ride Profile | Glorious Sunday with dat_steve near Richmond | Times and Records | Strava |
Went on a late afternoon ride with Alphamale to Steveston and back. 1/4 way up Cambie, my legs just locked right up. GG'd. Dun goofed. It was so cold and I didn't have anymore water. Had to pull over. :okay: |
Whoops |
Sorry I had to bail on you guys this morning, I stayed up till 3am trying to figure out why my front derailleur wouldn't shift properly. Ended up just taking everything apart and putting it back in. :lawl: This is my ride with bcrdukes this afternoon. I fucked around 49th Parallel for a while before moving on so it kinda skews the data. Bike Ride Profile | 55kilometers near Burnaby | Times and Records | Strava I really like seeing my improvement on the Cambie hill climb, I'm 1:11 faster already compared to my first time this year. |
Attachment 16166PLanned to try 604CEFIRO's route along marine drive, and hit up cypress on the way home but mother nature didn't agree. There was no way I was tackling that wind the whole way lol. Cypress you almost made me turn around, I was fearing for my safety with the snow on the road, no shoulder and a lot of trucks. but I made it... Well as far as I wanted to go anyway :p No land speed records today, but happy I made it. Bike Ride Profile | 2013-03-18 near Vancouver | Times and Records | Strava |
Nice work man! Wind was brutal today. Did deep cove with my tri buddy. Couldn't keep his wheel and suffered long stretches of up hill against wind. Iron workers bridge was ridiculous as well. Two feet side to side space on the pedestrian/bike path while the winds blowing u over. I'm leaning over and my face is about to smash the railing. Then the dust off the car felt like sandpaper. I'm beat. 140kms the last two days. Posted via RS Mobile |
You are insane to do two good rides in a row. After a long ride, i'm out for a good three days. Haha. I guess your legs get used to it after a while. |
boo...I'm jealous. Zero riding at all for me the last WEEK. But I did run 21km, does that count? Guess not in this thread. On a good note, did pick up more bike parts in Pt. Roberts today! |
some sadistic mofos up in hurr |
Sadistic? Wait until later on when Alphamale posts up his ride. :fuckthatshit: |
Bike Ride Profile | GOD DAMN SFU MOUNTAIN near Burnaby | Times and Records | Strava So I ended upstarting up SFU mountain with some old guy on a steel Pinarello. He beat me, okay no problem. I notice some guy going down Gaglardi while I'm half way or maybe a little more than half way up the hill. When I'm at aronud 7/8, THE SAME FUCKING GUY PASSES ME GOING UP HILL. :fulloffuck: We stop at the cross street @ Gaglardi and Hastings and this is what he says to me: Cervelo: Is this your first lap today? How many laps are you gonna do? Me: Uh..This is my first and only lap :fuckthatshit:. You are a beast. Cervelo: Haha. See you at the top. I never saw him again. Ever. That being said, it took me around 20:20 mins to do the SFU climb which is SIGNIFICANTLY faster than any of the times I did it last year and that's from the Gaglardi/Broadway all the way to the first bus loop non-stop. I took around 23-26 mins last year and that's not including a 5+ minute break at Gaglardi/Hastings. Feels good man. I used to find going SB up the hill on Rupert hard but today it felt like an easy ass hill. Hit a PR according to Strava so I'm pretty sure if I didn't beat my legs up SFU, I would have killed it up Rupert. 604Cefiro, I'm gonna be on your tail (or try) the next time we ride Stanley Park, lol. |
What a bunch of nut cases :fuckthatshit: Posted via RS Mobile |
