Went for a ride yesterday with some friends. The new Canada Line bike lane bridge that runs along the tracks over the river was really nice! I also picked up the 10th best segment time for the QE Park climb lololol

Just got back from the meet. My legs are done!! First ride went pretty good. Went slow and steady in my street clothes. I'm so slow looking at the stats on Strava.

Good ride today! New bike is wickedly fast.

I nutted myself on the Prospect hill climb, pushed through into North Van but had to call it as we neared Second Narrows. Was feeling on track for a century today, other than that.

^ nice Garmin!

What is everyone using for a headlight? Current one is rated at 180 lumens which is nice and bright except only works half the time. I need something more reliable.

Are you using the light to see, or be seen?

If its only to be seen, I just use a $9.99 mec blinker front and back

I don't ride in pitch black non lit roads. No use for a powerful light

Alphamale and I use this one from MEC - MEC Quattro USB White LED Front Light - Mountain Equipment Co-op. Free Shipping Available

However, it's only 90 lumens. Buy 4 of them and get 360 lumens?

For the seat post, we use this: http://www.mec.ca/AST/ShopMEC/Cyclin...ycle-light.jsp
It works for the most part and people have complained that it's too bright.

FYI since it's not far from you - Kinetic Cycles is having a sale on lights.

This is more than you'll need for riding on roads at night. When these first came out people would use one on the handlebar and one on the helmet for night MTB'ing. They were about $80/set which was super cheap vs. the HID alternatives at the time, and also better performing and longer battery life.

True output is 'only' ~700-800 lumens based on reviews, but for the money, you can't beat it.

I have these two in black

MEC Plasma USB White LED Front Light - Mountain Equipment Co-op. Free Shipping Available

MEC Plasma USB Red LED Rear Light - Mountain Equipment Co-op. Free Shipping Available

More than enough light unless you plan on doing a lot of darkness riding

I need the light to see, as I commute home at an ungodly hour on unlit streets. Going to do some more looking and review reading.. hopefully I'll find something good under $100

When it comes to lights, there are just so many! From my own research, Light & Motion lights proved/rated pretty good. ie:
LIGHT & MOTION || URBAN 400
As for myself, since my commute is pretty short, I'm using a Blackburn Flea, as well as some older 1 Watt MEC light. For rear, it's Planet Bike SuperFlash and/or PDW Radbot 1000.

Anyone have a spare 700x23 tire they can lend me for a week? Put in an order for tires from wiggle.com but won't be here until next week sometime and I don't want to miss out on the sunshine! My front tire is fuxxored (small hole). Just let me know what you'd like for some tradsies. Obviously I'll be returning the tire to you once the weather turns to shit or when I get my order, TIA

What's a good 1.5 hour round trip ride from Richmond (Garden city area)? I need a route to ride after work and be back before dark.
