Looking to get the catlike kompact, where is the best US retailer to get it from? |
Today: Bike Ride Profile | 52kilometers near Coquitlam | Times and Records | Strava I'm thinking of getting a second wheelset... anyone had experience with Stan's Notubes? I want to run 23c tires for weekend rides and keep my 35c tires for commuting. I've already worn a noticeable amount off my Sammy Slicks from longer rides. Also I can only run 85 psi max currently :okay: |
Get a road bike :fullofwin: |
n +1... so you buying? I like Cannondale's but Cervelo's and Pinarello's are ok too. But seriously my commute would trash a road bike/tires. I need 32c tires minimum (35c is best) and disk brakes :o |
Just ball out and get a Bianchi or Cinelli :troll: n + 1 got the best of me. :okay: |
So I ordered a few extra items from Wiggle. Look at what these sneaky fuckers pulled on me: Quote:
Ugh! On a related note - for those of you who bought the Continental GP4000s tires... tl;dr versioin: Michelin Pro Race 3 = High performance tire. Continental GP4000s = awesome daily rider for training and possibly racing tire Spoiler! |
I think is because the pedals were on back order? Or at least thats what i thought since last week cause when I select it, it quoted that it will be receive its shipment in mid-april. I also order the PD-5700, lets hope it comes in 1 parcel with my DHB gear :S |

I think they just got their stock back up for the black cause I placed my order this afternoon and on the product link it no longer says back order. |
Separate shipping could be due to their warehousing and distribution system. I've ordered hockey stuff online from the US from one company, but it comes from two different physical locations. I'm sure its cheaper for them to ship everything in one box as opposed to two boxes, and they would do that whenever possible as long as its logistically feasible. Nobody's trying to scam you out of your tracking number ;) |
It's a conspiracy. |
must...not shop on wiggle... |
So I sent Wiggle an email on Saturday and messaged them on Facebook and still haven't received a response. I'm taking my business to CRC or PBK going forward. Posted via RS Mobile |
There's also Evan's Cycles but I've never bought from them. |
It's a pretty crappy situation Ch28... but i think in the grand scheme of things, had that sale not come out, you would have been very happy with the purchase u made (product quality wise). These things (new offers, discounts) happen all the time... I get email spams from wiggle / CRC all the time. Overall, I've been really satisfied with the pricing and delivery times of Wiggle. They are cheaper than CRC and MUCH cheaper than probikekit... |
how necessary do you guys think professional bike fitting is? Is it a must when you have a road bike? I'm just a casual rider, more for working out and riding around close to home then going on crazy long rides out |
How casual is casual? 30-60 minutes once a week? Cycling is a repetitive motion type of sport. You're sitting in one position doing the same thing over and over. If you are in a bad position on your bike, over time, that will translate into sore back, sore muscles, pain, etc. Can u get away with no bike fit? Yes. But it's best to get fitted. You will be more comfortable, less pain, better performance etc. Do your hands or arms get numb? Shoulders sore? Knees sore? Lower back pain? That type of stuff can be related to a poor fit. I would say is quite important. I was caught in the moment and purchased single speed road bike through craigslist. I got an awesome deal, but the bike really didnt fit me too well. I gave up on it after a few months cause I would get back pains even after a short 30 minute ride. Check out CC, they have a pretty good user guide for bike fitting. But I think is worth getting it done if you are planning to drop 1-2k on a new bike. |
^ yea exactly. If you're spending $1-$2k on a bike, what's another $100-$200 on a proper fit? |
Last year, I willingly convinced myself that I would only "ride casually." Yeah, let's just say a "casual ride" turned into 40 to 80km rides. 30 minutes turned into 60. 60 turned into 4 hour rides. Not sure if that' still casual. I ignored the bike fit thinking it was just a scam. During and after every ride, I would be in pain, either my back, wrists, my knees, quads, calves, shoulders, arms - you name it. It wasn't until I switched to the CAAD10 and got a proper fitting, things started to work better. I also struggled at the beginning of the season because of all sorts of complications built up from last season but now, it's getting better. Now, I am pain free. :) |
