There's quite a few around but most of them are in Blockbusters.
I know for sure there's one at Park Royal Centre (across from Bell)

Does Wind offer GSM connectivity? And if so, is it possible to sign up for GSM only?

i dont believe so, because outside your home calling area would be on Rogers/Fido GSM network. I believe in network/home area would be AWS only

SkinnyPupp 07-16-2010 04:04 AM

OK so what's the best way to have a GSM voice plan for 1.5 months? Last time I bought a Fido prepaid card, but the sim card was $50 FUCKING DOLLARS. $50 FOR A FUCKING SIM CARD~~!@@!#(*$&#H$#POHI$P#OH$

i'll be jumping on this before aug.15th for sure! just gonna wait it out a bit to see if desire comes out before this offer ends.

Quick question about rogers/fido billing, they bill for the month after right? so essentially they're pay before account? So if i get billed on the 1st of the month, i can use my service till the end of the month, port over to wind on the 30th, then i wont get billed again the next month? Do i need to call in to confirm cancellation with fido after wind ports me? or is it auto.

No need to call in.

Once you port over, you're done. That's it. You receive a prorated bill. Pay it off and say goodbye to your old provider. Anything paid in advance is then refunded to you.

That is new, it was $50 when I had to get one last time.

Even $10 is $9.99 too much though. Fucking ripoff pieces of shit, Canadian carriers

I'm not going to trouble you for a $10 sim card. If they were still $50, maybe :troll:

I agree with you! When I travel to HK, I could buy prepaid airtime and they give you the sim card, and the per minute charge is so cheap too!

Where do you go?

I'm thinking about jumping ship as soon as I have the moolahs to spring for a phone. Right now, though, the lack of reception is North and West Van may be problematic

icemiko 07-30-2010 05:44 PM

Does anyone know when they'll actually have coverage in Coquitlam, Surrey, etc? (I know it says later 2010 on their website)

rk604 08-01-2010 05:19 PM

Come by to the store, most areas in surrey and coquitlam is covered.

just jumped ships from fido yesterday night
everything was smooth and chill but the only thing i wish they told me earlier was i need to reset my temporary sim number to the number i ported over from fido.

rk604 08-04-2010 06:40 PM

^^^
what do you mean you have to reset your number

distanc3 08-04-2010 07:28 PM

i ported my number from fido, and i had a temporary number during the time being. 6 hours later my blackberry still didnt have my fido number and my nokia is still running my fido sim. I called the service operator and he said i had to reset the Wind SIM to get it running =T
