I'm not understanding you

the 10$/Month BB Social Data plan IS a Data plan, you even said it yourself...so why would you need to add another...

15/month Chat
10/month bb social

25/month total + tax

Ah thanks man. I was looking at the Mobilicity plans as well and noticed that there BBM internet service add on required a data plan add on first. That kinda threw me off thought i needed both for Wind. Thanks!

Got charged $85 dec.26th-27th in data roaming charges. :fuuuuu:
Calling in and was on hold for 2 hours, they couldn't do anything about it as they were billed by T-mobile for it?
I wasn't even anywhere near the border.

Thats why you gotta do prepaid my friend

DJ Milk 02-01-2011 01:46 AM

Even with prepaid if you have money in there to cover the next months payment, it will deduct it from your balance. You should disable data roaming on your phone.

Peturbo 02-01-2011 12:20 PM

Ya it's disabled. Must of been after i rooted my phone and flashed a rom in when it happened.

Just make the exact payment to your account when it's due. They process the payments immediately so it won't affect your service, no need to prepay 2 months ahead. I've been using Wind for 2.5 months now and haven't incurred a penny in roaming charges

DJ Milk 02-01-2011 02:32 PM

I like to keep a balance in there in case I forget to top up. One of my account with the Holiday Miracle Plan is now gone because I forgot to top it up on the due date :willnill:

I missed my last payment by a bit but my plan wasn't canceled, my service just stopped working at 12:00am. I've remember reading on HoFo that people are making 1 payment every 3 months to keep their line and promotional plan alive. I'm not sure how that works exactly but they shouldn't be taking away your plan that fast :(

distanc3 02-01-2011 05:29 PM

^ i think it depends if your plan is christmas special :S

So anyone "In The Know" know when WIND is getting HD Voice? I hear they're getting it but can't find any info on it

I know it only works if your Phone has HD Voice in it and that's why Im interested because the N8 has HDVoice

and for those wondering it just makes communication all the clearer/louder/crisper

here's an example

wow thats really amazing... the alcatel Tribe has HDVoice... i might pick that up.. haha
but i believe both parties need to have HDVoice on phone to use this feature perfectly...

Cman333 02-08-2011 02:46 PM

How do you guys find reception for wind? I was thinking of switching over myself but keep getting told the reception and coverage is horrible.

Vulcan300 02-08-2011 03:26 PM

I read HD voice only works if BOTH users have a device that supports it.
And I havn't really had problems with reception. Underground condo parking lots and parts of landsdown mall are really the only places I have lost reception within the areas I frequent on their coverage map

i had pretty good coverage... i do notice the occasional no signal.. i really dont talk a lot on my phone, just 5-10min convos.. i txt a lot tho..

they just expanded their coverage few months ago...
Vancouver/Richmond/Burnaby will be the best reception.. if you frequent that area a lot, its good.. Coquitlam/Maple Ridge and area also got coverage and should be good, i dont go out that way so im not sure

i would recommend Wind if you dis-like Robellus... but if coverage/reception is your biggest concern, i would stick with Robellus...

i generally don't have a problem when i'm in rich/burn/van/northvan. as stylingred mentioned they have expanded so thats a good thing.

I went to kwantlan surrey campus on friday for an event and i didnt have any signal in most part of the campus. I find wind to be very weather dependent and could improve in building penetration

StylinRed 02-08-2011 06:46 PM

coverage is good but building penetration is a big must heck i've got no signal through most of Metrotown -_-

A lot of times i'll be in "Away" but all i have to do is reboot my phone and it'll be in "Home" i'm not sure if its a phone issue or Wind issue

Kamui712 02-08-2011 06:59 PM

^ phone issue.
Setting for this is similar in most phones... go settings --> network --> WCDMA only.

This will prevent your phone from roaming onto other networks.
