Co-worker just did the 3G sim card update on his Iphone and still the same.
I have to wait till tonight before I can try out my so called 3G sim card. Grrrr....

here is a temp solution:

If anyone is having issues with their cell phone (on the Rogers network), please tryin changing the network from 3G to 2G.
Go to Manage Connections, Mobile Network Options, Network Mode (2G).

Rogers is having some issues with 3G in our area (choppy service).

I just made this switch and the phone is working again.

AND whoever says you need a 3G SIM is pulling your leg. I'm using an ancient SIM from Rogers AT&T, that's from when they first launched 850 Mhz GSM. I'm using 3.5G on my N97 right now, same SIM.

Still getting delayed BBM msgs on my end

Can't make any out going call all day so far with my e71. Every time I try to dial it says connection error. Fuck!

Although I just changed the setting to using GSM only instead of Dual Mode (UMTS and GSM) and right away it's working again. Just made 5 phone calls with no issues and none of that cutting in of out shit I've been getting the past 2 days too.

switch your network to 2g and it should work fine, they are only having problems with the 3g network, I think the 2g is fine. been working fine for me so far.

then call in and bitch, see if they give you any freebies. a bold 9700 would be nice for hardware upgrade if your not eligible. haha

My reception has been so shit since the 3.1.2 patch that i didn't even know anything was special that 3g was down HAH!

How good is the bold 9700? They won't let me hardware upgrade to the iphone and there is no other phone I want. :cry:

^9700 is fucking awesome!!! I do not miss my 9000 at all.

I have never done a battery pull on this thing. I did pull it twice when this whole 3g shit was going on but that was the network that was messed up not the phone! The 9000 I was pulling the battery having speaker issues all sorts of crap. the keyboard is a bit small if you are used to the 9000 keyboard but you will get used to it within an hour or so.

No problems with 3g only with bold9000 in bby and rmd

Haven't had time. Holidays and all...WORST time for network failure and recovery. Ugh. :mad:
