Bleeding Nose Cure

My nose never bleeds up until the past few days. It just starts gushing and over an hour for it to stop. A few hours later dealing with customers, it starts up again... an absolute GUSH. What to do? I am sure it is from the winter months...

after dealing with customers... lay off the cocaine. just playing.

temperature or atmospheric change are the most common causes of nose bleeds. so you're right, it is from the winter months. i would suggest lubricating inside your nose with vaseline or some sort, the change in temperature is because your nose is dry causing the inner tissue to crack and bleed. if it continues to pour during season all your round, your best bet is to get your nose cauterized.

btw i don't know how you're holding your nose, but i hope your holding the bridge (mid-section) and tilting your head forward and not backwards. if you're leaning backwards you'll swallow your blood (raunchy!!), this will cause nausea, vomitting, etc.

you'll know if you're holding your nose properly or not, usually it'll stop in 5 - 10 minutes. if not, apply an ice pack or cold damp towel on your forehead. once the nosebleed has stopped, don't agitate it by blowing your nose, bending down, try to stay in a cool area, and open your mouth when you sneeze.

smoking also irritates the nose, so if you're going out in the cold for a smoke then in again... yea, prepare for another nose bleed.

go to ur doc. and ask him to prescribe your fucidin lotion.

use a q-tip and put some lotion inside your nose.

problem fixed.

Just a reminder, if the bleeding is excessive and doesnt stop, go to your nearest emergency. A lot of patients are diagnosed with leukemia after the holidays. Xmas stress might be a triggering factor.

if it gets really bad, you might have to get it cauterized

It could be just be the cold wear just like someone said, take some vaseline and q-tip and put in your nose to moisten it.

Get your nose calderized at the doc's office. Will help the problem.

I've never had a nose bleed that's not due to external injuries until last year. It started out of nowhere while I was sleeping, and from that moment to now I've learned a lot about nose bleeds. I've seen many doctors and specialists, and to be quite honest, none of them have provided real help. Unless you have some serious issues, which is rare, you won't learn anything from the doctors that you can't learn from the internet: Run a humidifier, hydrate yourself, use lubricants, and stop picking your nose.

I've had my nose cauterized two times and that to me is two too many, as they result in scar tissues and neither of them stopped the nose bleed. I own two humidifiers and went through every over-the-counter lubricant, and here are my thoughts: Saline spray works great but effects are not long-lasting at all. Water-based gels last very slightly longer but end up clotting up the nose which irritates the linings. Petroleum jelly works the best, but apparently they can cause lung issues with long term use. I've religiously used vaseline 2-3 times a day since last fall to this past summer, but have stopped using everything altogether since August, and have only recently had a very slight nose bleed.

This is pure speculation, but I found that my nose lining was becoming very dependent on the vaseline that whenever I didn't have enough, the lining dried out quickly and started bleeding whereas when I stopped applying products in the nose, the nose actually keeps itself somewhat moist.

In my experience, it's most important to deal with a nose bleed properly and allow it to heal itself instead of anything I've been told to use. This means than when the nose starts bleeding, clean out the excess blood and pinch your nose for a good amount of time. Blood starts clotting quickly so when you get to the sink, blow out any clots that may have already formed because once the clots dry out they will likely trigger more nose bleeds. It sounds odd and is gross but it's a critical step. The waiting also sucks but that's just how the cookie crumbles. Once the bleeding has stopped, a small amount of vaseline/polysporin in the nose prevents scab from forming and promotes healing, and the nose should take care of itself from then on.

I'm not a doctor, and am not trying to be one. I'm just trying to share what I've learned from my endless search for solutions to my problem. I suggest everyone to see their doctors first anyway just to rule out any serious issues.

I used to have really bad nose bleeds even a small bump on the nose set it off. Mom got me some Chinese herbal medicine, tasted like crap but amazingly the problem went away.

Isn't fucidin an anti biotic cream usually used for burns for infections of skins?

a tampon works well, but best only used that in private and if it is a last resort

I used to have a nose bleed problem a few years ago.

Stay hydrated.
After your nose has stopped bleeding get a q-tip with a tiny bit polysporin just enough to lightly coat the swab. and stick it up ur nose like a cut man would do to stop the bleeding. Apply.

the most important one is though is staying hydrated.
a humidifier helps if u have nose bleeds while ur asleep.
a hydrating nasal spray helps too during the winter months when the air is dry.
