Are there still plates out there you can get with letters first before numbers (KGD-943)?

HondaGuy 02-18-2014 10:07 AM

^^ you will have to call around for that first gen sequence as those are now older format, compare to number first then letters.

Also if you do find them, possibly the numbers or letters are not as desirable...
But you may get lucky!

I don't think you've been able to get letters before numbers sequence in at least 10 years.

AAA-000 format ran from 1985-2001 so I highly doubt it.

The official words say they will start if off as:

"AA0-00A" serial format would be introduced to create an additional 8,000,000 combinations (or another 8-10 years supply).
I wonder if there's some combinations that will be left out?
Ie. In this series, will they even use BB8 88B then? Or will it be too similar / hard to distinguish? Same goes for DG6, DB8, etc.

I just realized in a very, very, very long time I can look for ST1 85H (for those that don't know, ST185H is the Celica GTFour RC chassis code)

Pretty niche for my vehicles, but if either of these came to my high traffic office, I would totally give up my Olympic plates for them.

BA5 (JDM Prelude)
BE5 (JDM Legacy B4)

Me hopes.

Kaolinite 02-19-2014 04:37 PM

I guess the closest thing to STI would be ST1

underscore 02-19-2014 08:46 PM

DB9...

mb_ 02-27-2014 10:33 PM

If anyone has leads to a 911-*** plate, let me know! :)

No, I don't have a Porsche 911 but it'll be the closest thing :alone:

HondaGuy 02-28-2014 08:58 AM

New World Insurance on granville has 3xx -XLW, if anyone likes those letters.

So my insurance is coming up soon and requires air care. Is it true that I can just let the insurance expire so I don't have to go thru air care and register with a new plate?

Jgresch 03-01-2014 10:22 AM

no, when you go to register it again, you will still need aircare when you try and get a new plate.

xpl0sive 03-06-2014 01:51 PM

HondaGuy 03-06-2014 06:45 PM
