Subaru Forester vs Subaru Outback

Greetings:

These two vehicles are in similar price range, just wondering which one would you prefer and for what reason?

Edit: I will throw the 2010 Mitsubishi Outlander into the mix too

well the outlander has an optional V6 as well the finance rates are pretty good right now

but i'd get a outback, the forester is too high for my liking.

I love the size and packaging of the forester, but the new outback is huge!
They both have won their share of awards,

The 2.5 flat 4 isn't the best in the forester, the outback has better trannies as well I believe.
But I think the forester is a better looking car, then again the interior on the outback is much nicer.

Not a fan of the build quality on the outlander but the warranty is attractive

my dad recently bought a 2009 outlander and for the price and the things we got in the car it was well worth it as well as the amazing warranty they give as well as financing at 0%
the newer 2010 has improvements from the previous gens
i think its got a quieter interior as well as more horsepower and a couple of minor things

Rav4 is absolutely garbage to drive... Our company has a fleet of them (We had a fleet of Trailblazers replaced by the Rav4 V6 and Priuses (!!!!!).. I've driven my share of Rav4s from Kelowna to Trail, and I can tell you, I'd much rather be driving in the older Trailblazers!!!

To the OP: What trim levels were you looking at for both the Forester and the Outback?
It comes down to what you need more really :

-If you're getting the base model, I think the Outback is cheaper. There's also more room to negotiate on the Legacy/Outbacks because they are domestically made (Foresters are imported)
-Forester can be had with the 2.5 turbo engine, but the tranny offerings are very ancient
