white hair on dog's snout

my GSD just turn 4 about 2 months ago, I have notice that since about 3 yrs and on he has white hair around his snout. now he had his share of skin problem (allegy and the recent weird wart on his lip) btu otherwise he is quite healthy and still have the energy of a teenager. Is white hair on the snout a sure side of age or other health related problems? my gsd is mainly black dog and his snout is compeletly black, could white hair appear earlier on dog with black snout?

white hair is common on the herding breeds at about that age around the nose and muzzle area. It is not a sign of health issues, it is just an age thing passed on by genetics.

3-5 is there prime years. It's not a senior age thing. It's just a aging thing. Some gene pools will "gray" quicker then others. I know most shepherd type breeds will start to gray around the 3 or 4 yr mark. It has no bearing on how long they will live.
