shangri-la hotel fees

So i came across checking out shangri-la hotel's rates, and services they offer.

However, on the fine prints it saids:
"Subject to 10% PST, 5% GST and 1.5% Destination Marketing Fee"

Is this the case for all hotels in BC?

Yup, every hotel in Vancouver (not all of BC) charges that as of June 2008. It's used to support the advertising done by Tourism Vancouver. Most major tourism cities use it.
