HELP: Seattle overnight parking?

anybody ever been to seattle would know that parking is a pain when you stay overnight at a hotel in downtown especially.
i'm looking to stay at the pan pacific hotel in downtown and they are charging $35 for valet + unlimited in and outs, which is a ridiculous price i think.

so what i'm really trying to ask is if anybody knows anywhere that offers overnight parking at a reasonable price and is a somewhat safe/nearby location or if you guys have any other suggestions.

thanks.

Most parking lots downtown cost around $28-$34

I usually just park at Grand Hyatt parking lot for $28/night cause I usually stay there when I'm in Seattle.

There's also Pacific Place mall parking but that's still $26.

I stayed @ Mediterranean inn and I payed $15 for overnight parking. I thinks that's the place.

so the parking lots downtown that range from 28-34 are overnight parking spots? cause if i could find a $24 parking lot overnight i'd much rather go with that + walk around than pay $35 at the pan pacific with in n outs.

The hotel parking lots should be 24 hours. Valet is usually $35-$40 but includes in/out privileges.

Park at either one of the Hyatts in downtown Seattle and you'll be fine because they're right on the main strip.

Street parking is free after 6 and on Sundays.

I agree with ch28, if you're willing to shell out the money, get valet at a nice hotel.

nathaniel 01-10-2010 07:43 PM

fair enough, sounds like the recommendations are leaning towards staying in the hotel. i'm stayin at the pan pacific and the valet is $35 with in and out priviledges.. might as well go with that.

thanks for your suggestions.

just curious, how much do you guys usually tip a valet driver and how often

bcrdukes 02-04-2010 04:48 PM

I don't know the proper etiquette for valet tipping but personally, I only ever tip when I'm on personal travel - at the moment of check in and check out. On business, I never tip unless the service was exceptional.

I stayed at the ramada in downtown and its 12 dollar per night

In and out privillege

if you have a hyatt passport, and stay at the OLIVE8, you get free valet.

as for tipping. $1-$2. more if they unload/load your bags.

always call down as your getting ready, so that your car is there. i feel like valet is useless if you have to stand in the lobby and wait.

100% accurate. You can park across the street from your hotel for free
