Tata concept by Pininfarina

The Tata Pr1ma concept has been unveiled at the Delhi motor show, and the Pininfarina penned design shows a luxury saloon that could givehints to a production car in the future.

Tata says it has beenbuilt as a showcase for the brand's fundamental design characteristics, which it says are sportyness and interior space and quality.

To this end, the car has been given a coupe-like profile, but also a large 2700mm wheelbase that allows for good interior space.

It'sshape and lines have also been designed to flow along the car's length, with the tapered rear conveying the car's 'purposefulness' according toTata.

Tata also revealed the Tata Venture MPV, which will go into production later this year.

Despite being less than four metres long, the Venture is an eight-seater and has what Tta describes as 'adequate' luggage space.

It is powered by a 69bhp 1.4-litre turbo-charged diesel engine.

Rear end shot looks like a late 90's Hyundai.

It's a people mover. If the price is right, people are gonna buy them regardless of style. The fact is, style matters to a small portion of the driving population. Look @ the E90, looks like crap, but because it's a n almighty i-am-better-than-u BMW, it sells.

How the hell do you fit eight people into that thing when the front obviously has bucket seats?

And for a Pininfarina design, it's pretty tame. Looks too boring and plain.

I actually do like the look of that car. It's not bad at all. Front even looks a bit sporty (reminds me of a Lancer). I can see my sister or mother buying something like this if it were to hit the market over here.

Many of you laugh now, but Tata could very well be the next Toyota.

The Tata Venture MPV is the 8 seater not the car pictured.
