HID kit for 8th gen civic

hey there,

Anyone out there have an HID kit installed in their 8th gen civic? I recently installed projector headlights for my civic and am interested in an HID conversion. Any tips to steer me in the right direction?

Thanks

for the most part, what you pay is what you get. ebay stuff is shit and will die within 1-2 years. then there's the high-end OEM quality HIDs that cost way too much. you'll probably want to find something that's in the middle of these two extremes.

for now, i'd suggest you do some research for your specific vehicle.

in case you didn't know:

5400K = white
6000K = white with hint of blue
8000K = blue

I usually buy 4300k, and they're pretty white. I never heard of 5400k....

what kind of projector headlights? ebay?
are they made for hid?

make sure it's for hid and can accept hid bulbs. Cause cheap ebay projectors can melt thanks to high temperature hid kits.

Ebay projectors will still give you glare, you need a true HID projector out of a tsx, s2000, mdx.
here's a few examples of a proper retrofit
http://hidillusionz.com/html/hid-sho...2006-2009.html

if you do get HID's get 4300 oem white, anything higher actually gives you less usable light.

check out http://www.hidplanet.com/forums/index.php if you want a place to do some research on HID's
