| FS:$300 dollar car, 1987 Maxima
1987 Maxima, 3.0L V6 VG30E
Fully loaded, power group, auto, 394k, engine is still very strong.
now comes the bad parts:
- Fuel meter does not work properly, it shows half when it's full.
- Radio is kinda busted, antenna does not move up or down, tape player still works tho.
- The onboard computer does not speak anymore, it used to, has a sexy female voice to it telling you about your door, fuel level etc.
- Trunk pop switch is broken, the thing is still there, you can use a key to jump the contacts to make it open.
- Exhaust broke at the mid section after cat, so it sounds throaty but not buzzy, kinda like a sports car.
- Finally, the transmission might need some work, the car still drives, but it won't shift past 3rd gear unless you step it down over 6-7k rpm, and it slips there, you can still drive it using "2" which makes it stay within 1st and 2nd gear, given the wide gear range, you can go up to 90-100kph in 2nd gear. just not for too long since it might overheat the engine staying 6k rpm for too long.
Exterior has little rust on the rear fender wells, a dent on the rear right quater, other than that it's what you'd expect for a 23 year old car with almost 400k to it.
Engine pulls pretty hard when the tranny still hooks up, which was about a month ago. you'd pass regular civics and corollas and laugh at them. The VG30E was rated at 160hp. Even with a melfunctioning tranny the car would still pull within 1st and 2nd gear's range.
Tires had been recently changed about a year ago, Oil, coolant, PSF has been serviced 2 months ago, alignments checked half year ago, rolls straight like tiger woods (he's not gay, eh?)
Car needs to go before Wednesday night 8pm, gimma an offer as long as I can cover $20 of gas which I just put in there and also the paper work fee from ICBC and then still be able to go eat some pho and bubble tea.
Asking for $300, yes, you can drive it away, not tow it away.
