PST + GST + 5% duty if not made in NFTA.. that's what the gov charges.. shipping companies charges more if you use their brokerage house and need a gate etc.
If the value doesn't make the officer happy.. they can drag you down to verify the amount, then you will be in for the "surprise".. ie they charge daily amount when you are on hold.
