AT&T Blackberry Bold 9000

Hey

Just a question here. Anyone use an AT&T branded blackberry bold 9000 on the fido network? Does anyone have any trouble with sending/receiving calls? Are there problems with the internet/bbm options?

Thanks

i dont see why there should be a problem, but why are you buying an at&t phone? theres plenty of unlocked rogers phones available.

A buddy is selling it to me for cheap so I guess I might as well try it lol

AT&T bold 9000 won't run with new 2000 Fido and 4000 series sims from Rogers. If you have the latest sim, use EDGE. You won't be able to receive calls while on 3G.

My personal opinion: Do not buy it if you want to use it on 3G. Look for a Rogers branded 9000. There is no software fix available for AT&T model.

How do I find out what series my sim card is? There are ~20 digits or so but I don't know which one states what series it is. I've read that the older ones will work?

Rogers > check 9th - 12th digits > They should read 4000(new) or 3040(old).

For Fido, I believe they are 1000(old) or 2000(new).

PS. Rogers and Fido recommend use of new series sim cards with all 3G phones.
