That's nice, but what's with the extremely tiny number of eligible models? That will only affect like 3% of the Nokia-toting population.
I just noticed the N95 isn't eligible either.

I am having problem installing Ovi maps.
I downloaded like Nokia PC Suite, Ovi Suite, Nokia map updater, and Nokia Map Loader. Map updater/loader won't detect my phone when my phone is in PC suite mode. QQ
Going to try again right now

can't wait for N97 to be available. Finally Nokia is doing the right thing.
It says N97 will have to wait for the firmware update at the same time.... Damn, now I have to apply the language pack again. |

Don't quote me on this but I've used the Nokia Map WITHOUT DATA PLAN and I was NOT connected to a WLAN connection. So I'm guessing it'll work without data plan.
ps. I have an e71 too

^ strange, I can use map loader 3.0 and load the map to my E71 and n97 no problem....
TT, I am not sure if it will eventually come to E71. E72 is on the list, but I would guess if they eventually put it up for N95, then E71 should be the same.
And if it does, no, u can cache the map on your memory card by province/state and no need data plan unless you want 3D map.

Should not work with an E71 yet. Check official list for the, uh, official list. More will be added.
Just tried it out going to UBC from West Van. Absolutely flawless. Almost no time needed to pick up the GPS signal on the E72 (like the E71), and it was smart and quick. A few weird bugs (sometimes says "turn left" instead of "keep left"), told me to U-turn in the middle of 16th near the UBC highway, but overall I'm very impressed. Even knows about the new crazy roundabout at 16th and Wesbrook. I like how the sound goes through my Bluetooth headset, so blasting Chinese rap doesn't drown it out. |

Apparently I need a newer firmware version for this to work, lol. When i try to update my phone OTA, it says that their are none, but when I check nokia.ca, it says the current version is different. Do you guys think I would be able to update if I debranded the phone? (ie is rogers not allowing me to update?) Thanks in advance |
