Wow fuck that. I was wondering why I only got 300km a tank when I usually get 350km/tank.

BULLSHIT

Yeah, but Esso has no cool additives. All they've got is a non-talking Tony the Tiger mascot.

Nope your getting less than a litre. I have had to replace gas pump hose a few times and there was less than a litre in I would say around 500 ml or less .
Esso has the additive super awesome 9000 but doesn't like t o brag.

I remember when shell switched to V-power. people thought it was a new gas formula and it had a a bunch of ne additives in it but it was the same old gas and they changed the name so it would have the same name as other shells around the world.

^ Octane rating = a measure of how "slowly" a fuel burns.

Octane rating and energy density are 2 totally different things.

No... Not exactly...

Think of it as using different toothpaste. Just because you switch it up every once in a while, it doesn't mean you get better results.

I switch it up every once in a while between chevron's 94 and Shell's 91 but that's because I gas it whenever it is convenient.

Yes, I know. Year old thread.

Just wondering because it's been over a year. Has anybody filled up at Shell recently? If so, is Shell 91 ethanol free or does it contain a small percentage? There were some mixed answers in this thread.

Thanks

My car runs like shit on ethanol blends.

I would have been better off buying a 1986 Dodge Aries.

I always put Chevron 94 in my Audi/BMW. I've noticed in my A5 that when I put a lower grade it gets sluggish, hard to explain but the dealer did say that it's best to put 94.

Lower fuel economy, may cause issues such as the ones described, and has a tendency to corrode/dry out rubber and plastic more quickly.
