Official 2010 Formula One Thread Ferarri's new car is out. Looks straightfoward. You can see they've taken front nose cone styling cues from last year's Red Bull. Maclaren's new car -- not sure what I think about the rear wing connected to the engine cover. It might make sense on paper, but looks bizarre. Can't wait to see what happens when another driver punts them from the rear. |
Awesome... Ferrari looks typical, but the McLaren's design looks stupid. I wonder how many seconds they shaved off for having a stupid looking car. |
since we locked the 09 thread :P |
And for those that haven't seen the cars yet, here are some pics McLaren MP4-25 http://i687.photobucket.com/albums/v...67660A1660.jpg http://i687.photobucket.com/albums/v...290_850136.jpg Ferrari F10 http://i687.photobucket.com/albums/v...00001new_m.jpg http://i687.photobucket.com/albums/v...00007new_m.jpg Mercedes GP Petronas F1 http://i687.photobucket.com/albums/v..._mg_7631_m.jpg http://i687.photobucket.com/albums/v..._mg_7780_m.jpg |
^ that's actually last year's Braun GP with the new 2010 livery. Mercedes doesn't reveal the new car for a couple weeks. |

Was following via Twitter on the testing last night but fell asleep before Schumacher went onto track @ 4:30am. Looks like Schumacher hasn't lost his pace after being absent :) But like they all say, testing means nothing since I'm sure some teams are planning to sandbag it or run some funky shit before Bahrain :) The Renault Livery is pretty nice, BMW-Sauber doesn't seem to have ANY major sponsors, sorta like the 2009/10 Brawn GP Car. The Ferrari livery with the White is starting to grow on me as I'm sure the McLaren will as well. I feel bad for Peter Sauber, he didn't want to let the team he created die so he had to re-buy the other 80% stake BMW had on the team. I hope they get some major sponsors on the car. Provisional Day 1 Results: Provisional times 01. F Massa Ferrari 1:12.574 102 laps 02. P de las Rosa BMW Sauber 1:12.784 74 laps 03. M Schumacher Mercedes GP 1:12.947 40 laps 04. N Rosberg Mercedes GP 1:13.543 39 laps 05. G Paffett McLaren-Mercedes 1:13.846 86 laps 06. R Barrichello Williams-Cosworth 1:14.449 75 laps 07. S Buemi Toro Rosso-Ferrari 1:14.762 18 laps 08. R Kubica Renault 1:15.000 69 laps DAY 2 IS COMING UP FOR JENSON BUTTON + LEWIS HAMILTON AND FERNANDO ALONSO!! |
Nobody has mentioned the Chinese driver for Renault Ho-Ping Tung (Tung Ho-Ping) http://static.sidepodcast.com/conten...o_pin_tung.jpg he's dutch btw, and is a reserve driver |
Red Bull also has the funky rear wing connected to the engine pod. Looking forward to seeing the new Force India and the USGP car. |
It's 1995 all over again with those fins on top of the airbox. |
Russian driver for renault along with Kubica as well |

Massa still up there with a 1.11.782 I believe. Too bad testing times mean nothing.. LOL |
Ferrari was also at the top last year, until Brawn arrived. The Mercedes in testing right now is only running last year's front wing and diffuser... Knowing Brawn, he always has a card up his sleeve and will probably introduce a triple/quad deck diffuser just like the Mclaren. It's probably so innovative that they don't want to show it in testing for now. |
Yeah, I believe RBR has something special in store as well..knowing Adrian Newey, he probably has something up his sleeves hence RBR didn't want to join the other teams @ Valencia. |
