Why is it so hard to get a credit report?

I purchased it on transunion and equifax and both have these stupid secret question thingy. I answered to the best of my knowledge and i still can't get it through. For example, who is your last employer? I put in his full name and still doesn't work.

Then I actually called in to talk to one of the representative. Talk to him once and he started asking me when did I created my cellphone account. Give him any month of the any year. So I went from Jan - Dec of 2002 and 2003.. none worked.

I decided that I'll call him back and look for more info on this cellphone account. Found it, called back and was asked another question. They ask me for any of my credit card number (one that I don't use anymore), and ask me the date I created this card...

Not to mention both the representative can barely speak english... WTH is it so hard to get my credit report?
