'06+ Honda Civic windshield wiper replacement

Has anyone tried to replace the wipers on a 06+ Civic by themselves?
they look very different from conventional wipers, so I am wondering will I have to take it into the dealer to replace them.

No, you should be able to replace them. Get the inserts from the Honda dealers, they will be cheaper than anywhere else.

It looks like regular blades under plastic covers. When I get home I will check my CSX to find out for sure.

Yup, easier to just get the blade refills. Ask at Honda.

You can get the Honda refills for around $10, and the instructions on how to replace the blade is in your owner's manual! GL

yes, please don't buy aftermarket blades. They are more expensive and they do not work as well. They are a little more difficult to replace then the older style but takes about 10mins if you don't know what you're doing.

Why is that? They're both the exact same car, minus a few sheetmetal differences.

They are basically Bosch Icons. They are the same as any other wipers.

csx is same as civic SEDAN. civic SEDAN and COUPE are different. i know cuz my household has both and i just replaced both last week. sedan is conventional pull out the insert. coupe is same thing except take off the end caps and slide right out no metal piece.

To be honest, OEM wipers last longer than aftermarket ones. It's a true statement.

With how well the OE wipers are, you shouldn't be paying extra money buying PIAA or other brand names. There is no need to purchase another set of hinge-less to replace factory hinge-less.

Just stick to the replacement inserts from Honda. The factory hinge-less design is great.

I don't think you can find aftermarket inserts. You have to buy a whole blade assy. which can cost anything from $20-$50. Compared to $10 a set for OE replacement inserts.

yes and then once you find out that most of the aftermarket blade assemblys suck, you go back to honda and buy oem honda blades and they cost an arm and a leg. Keep your oem blades and just stick to replacing $10 inserts. Let me know if you guys need any inserts. Can get them for you for 8 bucks.
