Admission SFU question

Hey guys,
I just got mail from SFU saying that I am conditionally accepted if i continue to meet admission requirements..It doesnt mention anything about keeping a % avg. Does this mean i just need to pass all my courses now or maintain the same avg in grade 12?

Just to be sure, I would ask the SFU admissions office directly with this question. I assume you just have to maintain the standard GPA outlined in SFU.

maintain your gpa. If you are going to drop, dont let drop too much. I have heard they take away your admission if your marks drop way below the min

80%+ is just guaranteed in
you still can get in with a lower mark, but you wont get in until like late

i think the admission is somehwat like this

business 86 % + could have increased
sciences somewhere along the 80s
art 80% min
health science 75% min

i think if you just get a C+ you're fine and honestly, you must try pretty hard to drop that fast within such a short period of time

You wont. I got into sciences and I started out with a 85, by the end of third I had gone down to a 74 or something.

Stop putting unnecessary pressure on yourself Pickle Man. Judging from the info you've provided, it seems that you do well academically so as long as you maintain the effort you're putting in now, you should be fine. Not only will the effort you put in now help you get into SFU, it will also help you with your future studies.

With that said, ENJOY YOUR LAST YEAR OF HIGHSCHOOL LIFE! Make the most out of the freedom you have now because once you get to university, you'll be putting in a lot more time and effort into your studies and won't have as much leisure time as you have now.

If it puts you more at ease, I slacked off in Gr.12, got a C+/C avg for academic courses, and was still accepted into SFU for a science degree. I'm not saying you should do what I did but just wanted to let you know that I did worse than where you're at now and was still accepted.

Good luck with your studies and hope to see you at SFU in the fall.

this is so true
i think when i took it most people failed and have to take it again as well as macm 200 level
you will also get to hate cmpt 150

take cmpt 120 if your background is bad at programming

Hey guys, I'm also a Comp. Sci. applicant for SFU (and I have also received early admission), and unfortunately, I'm at a 78% average this term. Your previous posts led me to believe that this will be just fine, and I'd end up in SFU by the fall of 2010. However, this belief has been shattered when I saw this post:

"SFU

Arts and Social Sciences - 82%
Applied Sciences - 80
Business Administration - 95 (80-94 are encouraged to complete broad-based admission)
Communication, Art & Technology - 80
Education (BGS) - 82
Environment - 80
Health Sciences - 80
Science - 80

The above admission averages are the minimum that an applicant must have.

Those that have been offered a conditional admission offer must maintain an average that is greater, or equal, to the average posted for their respective prospective faculty.

http://students.sfu....lors/index.html"

The post was found from this link: http://forum.canucks.com/topic/26826...sions-fa-2010/

I personally think that this information is bogus, as I have been on the SFU site, and the information on the top regarding the percentages were present, but the line saying "The above admission averages are the minimum that an applicant must have." was no where to be found.

Have you guys heard of anything similar to this? Were there some sort of changes made to the admission requirements for SFU? It would be awesome if anyone with any 'information or solid proof' to come up with a link that shows what was said above to be true. Thanks and best of luck to all the applicants!
