There's an Olympic thread on its fifth page discussing tickets + venues... was it really necessary to make another thread for this?

^^ People will pay stupid amounts for hockey. I don't know why the gold medal one is so much. I'm going to a prelim and it sure doesn't cost $5000. Pretty much half the players on every team are from the NHL anyways. Same shiet, different pile.
Hitting up Snowboarding too on Cypress, and a couple of the lame Victory ceremonies if my buddy can't sell the tix.

People pay because if Canada wins it will be arguabely the biggest sporting event in our countries history
saying this is just the NHL on a different day is retarded. Posted via RS Mobile |

^ But that's the point I'm making. You're paying a ton to *hope* Canada makes it (and I hope they do). Imagine you spent $5k and it turns out the game is Belarus vs. Sweden. Meanwhile you could've watched Canada play earlier on for like $400 or whatever.
Props to whoever's willing to fork over that much dough though.

Well the two teams in the finals are going to be two great teams filled with stars regardless of Canada being there
but yea I'd your not that big of a hockey fan and the only reason why you bought was for Canada then yea it could be devistating Posted via RS Mobile |

^ Nice to see you're hard at work as usual Mugen.
And yes, the Opening Ceremonies thing is retarded. Watching a bunch of volunteers dance around for 10 grand? One can buy a 65" plasma, Hi-fi system and watch at home, food and drinks in, for less. I understand it's "once in a lifetime" (more like once in an eternity) but still..

^^ Actually that's a good question. I'm not sure.. the cheap kind?
I admit though, I also don't like spending $$$ to go to concerts in general. (being shorter than 80% of the crowd doesn't help )
imo most live events are way overrated.
