HTC Hero on Rogers

Got a HTC Hero from Telus and had it unlocked for the Rogers Network. Everything is good about the phone but the Mobile Network won't enable to the receive data from the Rogers network. Wifi works fine. Tried to talk to one of the tech's but since the phone is not an original Rogers phone, they can't help much. Any thoughts?

Figured it out! Now hooked up to the Rogers 3G network. Watch this video:

"So I went and got myself the new-to-Canada (finally!) HTC Hero today.

Thing is, Telus has exclusitivity, but since they're now GSM, they can be used on all other phone carriers!

Verizon = CDMA/EVDO 800/1900
ATT = GSM/GPRS/Edge 850/1700/1900/2100; 3G 850/1900
T-Mobile = GSM/GPRS/Edge 1900; 3G 1700/2100
Telus Bell Rogers = GSM/GPRS/Edge 850/1700/1900/2100; 3G 850/1900
(So just compare the network frequency bands between the phone carriers and you'll understand who's compatible with who)

Anyway, you first get the phone/SIM unlocked through various sources (I got my unlock code off eBay), and simply follow my video's instructions to get data and internet working on Rogers 3G network.

All programs - Settings - Wireless controls - Mobile network - Mobile network settings - Access point names - Menu - New APN - Name = "xxx" APN = "internet.com" Username = "wapuser1" Password = "wap" "
