kick light poles to achieve ultimate solid shins that will have your bones hard enough that they can clink against bottles of beer.

keep kicking a harder object. the phone book example aint bad. what my old taekwondo master taught me to strengthen my knuckles was to just keep grind it against something hard *desk, wall etc* and yes it did work. but for simplicity just keep kicking things.

But I started training in muay thai down at iron city.
some people are kinda against taking two disciplines at once... but i think i'll be alright..
how long have you been training in judo?

kick the bag and repeat. i usually use the big effin' mofo bag and not the thai bag just so i get more contact onto my whole shin. i wear the sleeves around my ankle which cover the top part of my foot, slapping that part against a bag repeatedly sucks major balls.
oh and i also use to roll my shins too, hurts like a bitch but it did toughen them up.

I've been doing muay thai for a couple of years now. I second the comments above and just keep kicking the bag... repetition repetition repetition.
As for the thighs, we were always taught running, bunny hops, tuck jumps, jump squats, prisoner squats to develop our thighs. All thigh muscle strengthening exercises....

10th Planet Jiu Jitsu is also in the same building as well as Dungeon wrestling
10th Planet Jiu Jitsu is by Eddie Bravo.. It's his students teaching the class...
I can't remember the name of the Dungeon Wrestling instructor.. But he joined UFC grapplers quest and placed Gold in his weight class... with no Jiu Jitsu or Judo... just straight wrestling...
It's the Sports Central facility right across knight street bridge.
