pay it G, outstanding tickets in the US mean - denial of entry to US - possible arrest upon arrival at border crossing booth - getting you ass ripped on by RS |
not worth the risk if you ignore it |
one tip for canadian drivers in WA.....STAY IN THE RIGHT FREAKIN LANE!!!! you guys dont know how to drive for shit down here. if you knew your road rules, i bet you wouldnt have gotten ticketed at all. |
I dont know about the last posters deal but he is obviously a douche. But be careful when driving in Washington, their pigs rather pull over Canadian plates. Look at ReGiMe's post, obviously they have something against Canadians. But for ReGiMe, come down to Van and we hit the track and see who can drive better, I bet you be in the right lane when I pass yo ass, Lol. |

to save the headaches, can you pay u the tickets the NEXT TIME u cross the US boarder?? or you can only send them cheque/cash through mail?? |
The reality is actually even worse than anything you guys have posted in here. Just yesterday my friend tried crossing, only to find out that they had issued a warrant for his arrest in Washington state for 2 speeding tickets he never paid from a long time ago. They almost arrested him on the spot, somehow he got off, but not easy... he was told to not even attempt another crossing or he'll be arrested on the spot, then they told him to go clear it up at the US consulate downtown if he ever wants to come down again. so apparently unpaid speeding tickets in the state of Washington are a huge fckin deal, just a heads up in case you guys get confused with all the different responses in here. It's serious business, US border guards don't fuck around, I should know, I had one of them pull a MP5 navy on me because I was apparently "looking at him the wrong way" <--- border guards own words |

Pay it. Otherwise, the next time you step into USA, they will arrest you. And I'm not joking. |

not worth the hassle if you decide not to pay for the ticket. |
Say you do have an unpaid speeding ticket from a long long time ago. You no longer have the original ticket, where would one go to pay this said unpaid ticket? My ticket was over 12 years ago, and I travel to the US quite a bit and have yet to be questioned but I don't need the hassle just in case. |
tons of threads on this topic, but in a nutshell it's not like how it is in Canada down there. pay the ticket or you will get thrown in jail with one phone call. |
What if the cop wrote a wrong spelling on my last name, as in an extra letter on the name? |
Just wanted to chime in here... I got a speeding ticket in 2007 coming through WA on my way back up to Alberta. The ticket was almost 500$, so I figured I wouldnt pay it considering I didnt think I would be going back to WA for a long time. Now that I have moved to the lower mainland, I obviously travel to WA quite frequently. Having said that I tried to get ahold of kings county and pay the ticket last year but they couldnt find any record of it so I gave up. I am a little worried though that one day i could go to cross and get nailed, but I have one advantage, at the time the ticket was issued they got all my information from my AB drivers lic. so none of it matches my current BC license info, so hopefully that will keep them from putting the pieces together lol. The thing is, it's not like there is a magical computer system that can link your passport, drivers lic, the border crossing, etc to flag you for unpaid tickets, but if the border crossing checks your name for warrants or you get pulled over and they check you could get nailed assuming a warrant was issued. Also, if they released your account (ticket) to collectons, I do not believe they can issue a warrant as a result of that ticket, it has to be outstanding unpaid ticket to the county, not a collection agency, as the county has no way of enforcing a debt which does not belong to them. |
bahaha i was going about 80mph thru seattle at 11 pm on a wednesday night, i had a police helicopter over me, and then state patrol guy drove up next to me in the HOV lane, turned on his spot light and gestured slow down, and let me be.. didn't even flash his lights |
