booked at happy times in richmond $1052 |
There seems to be some major information being thrown around in here. Let me clarify. All the major legacy airlines offer such a premium product. AC has a bigger fleet and the YVR to HKG is one of the major target markets to offer such a premium product. With that being said, airlines like NWA, CX, BA etc. started to upgrade their fleet. It's pretty much standard these days for the legacy airlines to offer this kind of product however, it is up to you, the consumer, to do the research and to ask the questions in advance on whether your flight will be on a flying rat box or a shiny new upgraded plane. |
Ever since I made the decision to fly cathy's 777. I regret doing that. The new seats sucks. Especially when I flew back 2months earlier in a Air Canada 777. I think in the next few year I won't be taking Cathy. They are expensive and not worth. ps: cathy's new seats ac power design is shit compared to AC's seats |
I just flew in the new fleet to HK on the 11th, flying back on 23. I was actually pretty impressed, other than the stupid seats. I was reading the online descriptions before i left saying how the seats are more "comfortable" and all that but it was so shitty. I looked at it closely and you could literally see all the plastic, there was barely any cushion. I was slouched in my seat the entire way, most of the way i was falling over the side since i had an isle seat. Eitherway I still slept because it was the middle of the night when i flew and the plane was delayed for 3:30 hours, so we didn't actually leave until 5:30am.. Other than that it was pretty cool, i thought the food was much better than most other flights i've been on. Lots of Cup noodles ftw! Best part was the movie list, pretty impressive how much stuff they've got on there. |
^ Cathay's BBQ Bun is damn good. :lol |
love them when flying to Vietnam, and definitely flying with them again next year. |
The best business class i've flown on recently was BA and their club world cabin on the upper deck of the 747-4. It felt like you were on a private jet. I did fly Cathay business class to NY last year and it was pretty good as well. |
too lazy to check, but does anyone know about the baggage check in limit is for CX? more specifically weight. |
|
My last Delta flight was good (NWA no longer exists btw). Seemed to be upgraded, and most importantly it had an AC outlet. I prefer the slouch seats any day over having some fat ass in front of me constantly bashing the seat into my knees/laptop. |
I think we should change this thread to a "Flight experience" thread. It would be a thread for people looking at various Airliner feed backs. |
where hyde and his feedback on his private jets? |
I fly g5 sometimes... the only way to fly until G650 comes out. Ok BBJ if you got a big family and wants to sleep on a bed. ;) |

I just take a Global all by myself. It only takes what 23,000 liters of fuel for the flight. :P LOL some 30 year old chinese lady actually did that just the other day. |
cathay is the best  |
"7. there's also a slot for USB and seems like a LAN cable slot, I asked the flight attendent if internet is available but she didn't know" Seems like no one has answer you on this question yet, but sadly Cathay does not have internet on it's flight yet. And yes Cathay + any of the One World airlines are good. I don't mind paying the extra buck to fly with them. And collecting the status miles as well! =) |

I flew Club World on the upper deck from Vancouver to London (and back) last year and it was absolutely fantastic. Unbelievable service, good food, and with only 20-30 people up there, it really did feel like I was on a private jet! Too bad clients don't pay for business class like they used to :( |
I always fly from Vancouver and Hong Kong and back and it's service is fantastic. Their flights from Hong Kong to other Asian countries are even better because the air planes are newer and more spacious. |
I've flown around quite a bit on long haul flights like Cathay, BA, JAL, A/C, ANA, etc.. and so far Cathay seems to be my winner. http://chris.hosting.ca/gallery/d/26448-1/P1010848.JPG http://chris.hosting.ca/gallery/d/26447-2/P1010845.JPG I've done the BA thing from Vancouver to London, and for me comparing the food and service, Cathay wins hands down (just by a little more). Maybe its with the asian culture, they just keep feeding you like crazy! http://chris.hosting.ca/gallery/d/24106-2/DSC_0237.JPG |
The bottom line is that the service/quality is there, and while some people will/can afford to pay for it, many others just want the cheapest flight to their destination. And then they have the gall to complain about service! :lol |
Man. We have it so good now. 13 hours to fly to another damn continent complete with tv, food, snacks, sleeping pods. Truly a modern day miracle. |
doesn't matter what airline. just get on, pass out for 13 hours, wake up, done. unless the flight attendants are hot, which is usually not the case. well nicer seats make the sleep easier. all that i really care about is, no fucking babies crying, no fat people sitting on either side of me or near me... and no stinky people or people that break out their mobile office and take up all the space lol. just leave me god damn alone and let me sleep. |
I would say Cathay would be the best company to go for. AC has everything Cathay but the service for AC sucks butt. |
i flew Cathay business class two years ago to hk and i gotta say it was the best flight of my life, i actually slept for 10+ hrs and had no jet lag at all wen i landed and like abdulclamwacker said they just keep feeding you nonstop lol |
