and like abdulclamwacker said they just keep feeding you nonstop lol

Getting off the 14 hour flight seems like nothing, almost refreshed.

I'm considered taller, but my knees can't really handle the normal seats. Literally a pain in my ass when I get off.

Next time I want to try Singapore Airlines as I've heard their service is exceptional. Too bad they don't fly out of Vancouver.

^ They are exceptional but their tickets are pricey.

Cathay Pacific isn't as good as it used to be... at least from my experience, I just returned from HK a couple days ago..

The cup noodles, they only make ~200, first come first serve, and its really only two bites too, and their food has gone down too, as they've been cutting the budget on that stuff

Service is great still though.

FishTaco 07-28-2012 07:18 AM

Icing on the cake for Cathay are the flight attendants :ahwow: gorgeous

46_valentinor 07-28-2012 10:07 AM

Eff-1 10-05-2012 11:15 AM

bump this thread.

I read today that Cathay will no longer be flying 747-400 into YVR anymore. All flights will be on 777-300.

Jer3 10-05-2012 04:48 PM

has cathay replaced those horrible fake recline seats in economy yet?

CP.AR 10-05-2012 05:34 PM

^ long haul: yes
they have actual reclining seats now. with thicker cusioning

Cathay Pacific

I've had the best experiences on Cathay. When I flew to Japan four years ago, I got upgraded to business class on Cathay. It was f'n amazing.

Champagne, liquor, fresh squeezed orange juice, whatever as soon as you get on. Kick off your shoes, put on some super plush slippers. Included is an amenities kit with earplugs, face wash, toothbrush, etc in a nice dopp kit that I can't find anymore, dammit. Five course Japanese or Western dinner, breakfast, 3 course lunch and frequent snacks of actual food. Seat folds nearly flat and it's Lazyboy wide and comfy. Felt like a nap before landing, requested that the attendant wake me up about 30 minutes before landing. Woke me up with a danish, orange juice and hot tea (remembered that I don't like coffee).

If they had internet, it would've been perfect.

:werd: Completely agree, just flew with them last month and seats still suck ass and food was below-average. Although the only good part about CX was Haagen-Dazs :)

skyxx 10-08-2012 10:05 AM

^ That's what happens when you buy their fares for under 1200 a pop. Shit goes downhill.

That doesn't have much leeway as you think it does lol

I paid 1450$ for mine

I know a couple people in HK that work for catering for CX and flight attendants and they've been telling me whats been going down

I've established that the food going to HK is significantly better than the return lol

On another note, the last time I went HK there was typhoon 10... and theres almost never typhoon 10.. and I go bak there like once every 8 years

didnt know where else to put it lol
