i just checked their used lot and most of their 07 and below TL have high mileage. ranging from 60,000km to 90,000km. I know honda/acura cars last long and could run strong even till 300,000km but id rather start fresh or at least something with only 50,000km or below.
258hp 235ish pounds of torque. Better styling, better equipped. Sporty suspension. get one with the navi if you can, A-spec lip makes the car even more sexier
plenty of room too
Genesis Coupe would be my choice. I've heard of and seen many bad transmissions coming from the TL's and a 4cyl Accord wouldn't cut it for driving fun. V6 is where it's at.
So then a Genesis Coupe 2.0T could definitely slap a good smile on your face from time to time.
go with the used TL cuz it's already depreciated a lot so you don't have to take the hit. You'll find a TL that has been treated well. After that stock market crash, there's lots of goodies out there for sale
which is hella overpriced for a Hyundai. Depreciate like shit, build quality was never proven, just because it sounds good on paper doesnt mean shit. Only time will tell
ok...so you said...you didnt want a lexus, because it's toyota's high end division so maint is gonna be expensive....did you forget that Acura is Honda's high end division? No such a thing as a free lunch. Get yourself a Subaru WRX STI
Don't u find that the new Accords are simply TOO BIG?
It really depends on ur use. Do u need the 4 doors of the TL? Even tho the TLs are used, the money u saved can be make towards any future repairs/maintenance. And you dun get the initial depreciation hit all new cars have. Your money can be put to better use.

How I wish I can remain ignorant, why do I know so much?
exactly! i am aware of acura being the high end of honda but the parts n labour are also either close and almost as cheap as honda. lexus n toyota, regardless of the same company, differs greatly in maintenance price n labour. lexus is on par with bmw maintenance, parts n labour charges. instead of suggesting a car to you, i just wanna say dun consider the genesis...i heard it got a pretty fragile body frame and won't take a huge hit, plus it's a RWD, not as useful. Ever thought about vw jetta TDI? i was considering a diesel engine cuz of the price range nowadays are ridiculous. a 2010 vw jetta base with tdi engine is only $22k, might be the maintenance is a bit high but they do have an excellent interior and a sporty look, just wat you looking for.
but if u do choose an acura, just dun go to richmond acura for service/maintenance...had bad experience with them.
apparently hyundai is doing something right with their cars. Ive got the chance to test drive a 3.8L genesis and my first impression on it is pretty good. unfortunately when i stepped on that gas "pedal to the metal", it didnt feel like it has 306hp under the hood. it seemed to lack torque. i am not expert with cars but this is what i felt. I also didnt quite fancy the interior. it is nice for sure but somewhat basic in its design. the only thing that really made me consider the genesis is the price. for a 2.0 GT package the price came up to $31,000 after taxes and that was a fully loaded package.

the 2.0GT is slow, the car is heavy for wat it is. For that money you are better off with a GTi or Mazdaspeed 3
dont know wats with all the Hyundai hype all about lately
I consider Hyundai one of the few car companies that are really evolving and listening to the customers. Look how far they have come, from the Accent to the Genesis. On paper its what car people wanted: affordable, light (ish), RWD coupe. Also I think this will cause the other companies to bring back their entry RWD cars again.
Plus if you pay attention to motor sports you will know that Hyundai has been upping their preformance and really want to start delveloping cars that can compete. For example in WRC, when they enter I laughed soo hard at this cheap car company trying to run with the big boys but after they started to constantly break into the top 10 as well as beat out Mitsubishi for 4th place in the manufacturers' world championship standings you have to give them some credit.
I would not buy a Hyundai but now with the Genesis I would consider it especially so in a couple years when/if their build quality is proven

well said, they have improved a lot over the past decade. Dont get me wrong, but as i mentioned earlier reliablity does not happen over night. We will see how it goes. There is still no need to jump boat just because the design as well as the spec looks good on paper.
But i would still take a japanese car over a korean made car in a blink of an eye. especially if its in the same if not similar price range.
true thats why I cant picture myself buying one however I would have to consider it as an option
I also forgot to mention that the engine in the 2.0T is pretty much a EvoX engine with slightly different internals, ecu and level of tuning.

i just saw the new vew passat cc and i fell in love with its design and luxury looks. any feedback regarding that car and how is vw's maintenance? is it just as expensive as maintaining a BMW or Audi?
if you can afford a new car, then at least buy a new-ish car.
dont buy an 06 or whatever unless u can purchase an extended warranty through the dealer. having no warranty is fine for an older car since its not expected, but if its a newer car i'd definitely want that warranty.

i don't know exactly, but from what i hear its more expensive than honda/toyota/domestics; but how much more no clue
and yeah the passat cc looks great
and to add i wouldn't consider an 06 car if you can get a '10 especially if your going to keep it for awhile; getting an older used one is like cutting your time with the car down and opening the door to problems sooner
