Everyone hear about the new social networking plan offered by telus?
This is what I got:
100 minutes+ 50 bonus
unlimited text
voice mail, conferencing, waiting
From a choice of 2: I got unlimited facebook, windows, IM shit
storm $0
1st month free
No SAF
$40/month 3 year contract
Any thoughts?
I know bell has a similar/identical plan, and are offering the 9700 for $50, but I only saw that after I bought this  , I think telus had it for $80.

For 10 bucks more you get 500mb,unlimited local calling after 9pm/weekends, and 100 bonus minutes (basically 200 minutes). Oh and you don't have caller ID which is like a 7 dollar charge.

Hmmm... $45/mo gets me 450 minutes, evenings and weekends starting at 5pm, and unlimited talk and text to 10 favorites, Canada-wide. In 2+ years I've never gone over my included minutes - 450 goes a long way when your top 10 are free.
$15 on top of that gives me unlimited data - email, IM, web, YouTube, streaming video/radio, whatever, anything but tethering (officially).
(Edit: Oh yeah, with data I can use Skype for long distance too  )

I got a plan just like yours sounds(my rogers one)
Just wondering what you're referring to skyxx? What plan is that? Sorry I messed up my original post, this is what I forgot to add:
They give you a choice of 2 things: My5 or double your minutes
So I got 250 minutes and evenings starting at 9/ unlim.

Just looked it up, I'd be losing 50 daytime mins, and paying $17 bucks more for data+ caller id... not really worth it in my book.

Mine wasn't a retention offer, it was an unadvertised deal primarily for new activations, but they offered it to me because my contract was almost up. The voice package (top 10, 450 minutes, evenings from 5) was separate from the data package and could be had with any phone; data package was available for any new smartphone activation *if* you had a voice plan worth $45 or more.
