Suspension work (bushing replacements)

Hey guys, just wondering if any of you guys recommend a place to get my front thrust arm bushings replaced and alignment?

I made a trip out to Dales lastyear and probably wont be returning to them as one of their shop guys greased up my interior ( steering wheel, shifter, glove compartment and seat...) and had to go back 2x to get the work done properly.

I would prefer a shop that has good knowledge of replacing bushings correctly.

i know of Eddie at Flying Tiger, but he wont replace bushings, but replaces entire parts which is not what i want atm.

thanks guys.

Bring it to Milos. I've brought my car there for services and have no complaints (once was for bushings too). They also do in house alignment.

Most likely your car has aluminum arms, replace them with a new pair.. Clean up the old pair, then take it to a place that can press / refurb aluminum arms with the correct kit (it won't be from MB). Most aluminum arms are not supposed to have their bushings replaced (the arm material too soft, pitting etc). It doesn't stop 3rd party from making kits for them, but YMMV, especially when the arms are dirty and stubborn and the shop use a flame to heat it up. You don't want the arm to crack or shear when you are driving, since any accident it will be your insurance.

So to save shop time and cost, I recommend get a new pair and get the shop to replace them, and you do the inspection / refurb yourself. Once they are cleaned up, it gets a bit easier. (or just sell it on fleaBay).

Milos deal mostly with older cars. I am pretty sure they will press it in on a press for you, but again YMMV.

i totally understand.

It was a manufacturer defect and MB wont claim it ( just like their faulty radiators that causes you to purchase another 8000 transmission).. They have part #s for bushings by itself which can be purchased...if worse comes to worse, i guess i'll just bite the bullet and send it off to MB to get it replaced.

thanks guys.

If Milo doesn't work out... I suggest going to see Magnus at ABV Automotive in Surrey on King George. He really knows his shit... especially with suspension, he is a magician with geometry...
