i'm currently on a 75 dollar plan which is similar to yours

My bill was originally $83 after taxes.

Friggin half price! I was offered 6GB of data for $10 more but I've got a blackberry and browsing isn't that great so I declined.

I had the plan adjusted in June I believe.

I pay 69.xx taxes in for this plan but with 500mb data and 100 LD. Would much rather pay 45. Please update us on how you got that rate?

In terms of the communicating with the rep I was just explaining the fact that my monthly bill was too expensive (honestly) and she said maybe there was a plan available with similar options but at a cheaper rate. We cut the price down to about $60 from $80 but I told her it was still too much. She put me on hold for about 5 minutes to speak to a supervisor and when she came back she offered me the $45 deal and threw in the extra 500 MB data.

I don't know if it matters but she said I've been with rogers long enough to be offered that deal.

I was surprised myself but I can't complain. I think it totally depends on the rep that you get that determines the outcome. My friend with a similar plan tried calling to haggle down his monthly plan without success, I think they offered him $5 credit for one year and he's had rogers for awhile.

I think if you call them and immediately ask them to match telus, bell, wind, mobilicity etc.. they will just refuse and its going to be downhill from there. I guess I went the pity route and it worked lol, if its going to save me $35/month for acting like a bum I'll take that any day!

again this was back in the summer if that matters.

hardware upgrade to an iPhone 4 for $50 and signed another 3 years contract.

I sold the iPhone for $500 and still using my blackberry 9700.

My work reimburses me for my phone bill as well.
