Built to last. How high is your mileage?

Calling all Honda owners, I want to know if you've ever owned a Honda with morbidly excessive mileage, or know of a family/friends Honda with astronomical k's. I want to know the year, model, engine, mileage, and a brief rundown on the car. Keep in mind it is approx 40,000kms to drive around the circumference of the earth and about 400,000kms to the moon.

Current winterbeater, I got the car with 412,000kms with a bad fuel pump. Four winters later, two trips to Grand Prairie, one to Edmonton, many ventures through trees, snow, mud, rocks and several trips to Vancouver, and 40,000kms of pizza delivery the car has only left me stranded once. Ive replaced routine maintenance stuff, and the transmission twice(auto).

1986 Honda Accord LX-i sedan, A-series 12-valve PGM-Fi, *483,000kms*, Its gone around the earth approx 12 times, or to the moon-turned around-and about 1/4 of the way back to earth.

I changed the oil every month regardless of mileage and did a tune up every year. 4 rads, 2 starters, 3 alternators, 3 pairs of CV's, 2 coils, 4 timing belts about a dozen brake jobs, 2 alarms and 6 or 7 stereo systems.

He pretty much granny shifted it all day. Whenever I got my hands on it to work on, I would actually rev the thing and drive it moderately hard. He always said it drove better after I had it for a couple of hours. LOL
To my knowledge, the guy we sold it to is still driving it with the same motor and he's only replaced the timing belt, water pump and clutch.

My first '87 Accord LX sedan, we got in '94 with about 160,000km on it. Eight years later, I wrote it off with 487,000km on it (that included two or three work trips to Prince George, another to Prince Rupert, several to Kamloops and Kelowna, a family trip to Chicago, a road trip with a buddy to San Francisco, a visit to Calgary, and a LOT of putzing around town).

Over at www.3geez.com (site for third-gen Accords), there's a guy whose family has a 3gee with over 1 million km - they make (or made, anyway) family road trips to South America in it.

My driving instructor told me his 03 Corolla has over 700,000km on it. Can't be sure though because the odometer stopped at 299,999. He uses the Trip A/B odometer to keep track now.

Seems like most Hondas from the 90s had fantastic mechanicals, except body rust is a huge problem. Most rust out before the engines quit.

i sold my 93 civic si hatch @ 350km..

i've owned since 12x xxx and driven to ontario once.. alberta at a separate occasion, and used it for service calls for a year.

timing belt broked once, coz the previous owner lied to me and had to change some more engine components due to it being an interference engine.

other than that, i've only replaced the radiator, distributer, swapped an ek stock exhaust and rebuilt the starter.

the rest were wear and tear items such as oil changes, brake pads, and etc
original tranny / clutch was still on the car when i sold it.

it did pretty well.. still ran strong when i sold it.

Have a '99 Civic Si with 465,XXX km's on it. I put it in a wheat field, hit a moose and got rear ended on the Island Highway just outside Nanimo with it, but other then that its been great. I have done 3 timing belts, two wheel bearings(drove up to and from work 5km on a gravel road), and one set of brakes. But still don't want to get rid of it. Awesome gas mileage and is perfect for running around town.

today at work a regular customer brought in their 1995 integra with 490, 000km's. only minor (and common) problems like cracked rear trailing arm bushings, both outer CV boots were torn and the cam end plug was leaking. my friend had a 1989 accord EX-I in high school that took a beating (logging roads etc) and the transmission went out at just under 400, 00km's, he sent it to the wrecker but i'm 100% positive that the engine could keep going. i learnt a ton of stuff about cars working on that thing! radiators, A/C compressor, DIY alignments. he owns a 1986 GMC truck now with over 500, 000km's since it was a work truck for a construction company.

my '90 EF Dx has 263,000 with the original engine (d15b7). zero major problems in the 1.5years i've owned it (was previously a friends). most expensive repair so far was a new rad.

the km's on my EK are disgustingly low

This ain't my car, but check out this RSX.

He says he's at 211k MILES. That's almost 340,000km, on an RSX K20A2 with I/H/E.
