Hey guys;
My dad is contemplating on taking a job overseas, therefore would not be needing his car anymore. He's in no rush to sell it, as I'll still be here and I can show the car for as long as needed. We're a bit unsure of what we can get for it, and have no interest in taking it to a dealer as they lowball a lot. So what, in your opinion, would be a reasonable price he can ask for, for his car?
I've researched on Craigslist but the prices vary. Here's one of a 1992 one for $1700 -->

And here's a 1992 one for $3300.

He has a 1992 Volvo 960, fully loaded with leather, sunroof, V6 engine, 2.9L and Power Everything.
There is absolutely no rust throughout the body, and the engine is very clean, and was always well taken care of. Had only mature drivers going behind the wheel.
He was the third owner, but the car was passed on from throughout his old colleagues. (Was not a work car, colleague A bought it new, sold it to colleague B after he retired, who then sold it to my dad)
The car only has 172, xxx Kms on it, and is not a rebuilt. Local BC car, absolutely no accidents.
And here are the bads, it needs some work:
-The pump brake is leaking oil.
-Every now and then, when accelerating from a complete stop, the engine does not start off from 1st gear, and starts off in either 3rd or 4th. (I don't know how easily this can be fixed... anybody know?)
-The trunk won't open. I don't know how to fix this either...
What would be a reasonable price to ask for this car? We're not trying to rip anybody off but we're also not trying to lose too much money. Any input would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.
