I sold my 07 Fit for a 08 Civic SI Sedan.
Never looked back.
Fit is peppy and fun to drive but the SI is even "funner".
Reving past 8k just feels too gooooood |

honestly the fit is like said above absolutely gutless...it goes no where..and thats why u get such good gas mileage out of it..its 110hp engine ...when your actually cruising along you don't need much power to keep ur speed generally hence the gas savings of having such a tiny engine...but if u don't mind getting from 0-60 in forever and the almost not being able to get up a hill without reving it or having it rev high then no problem..the thing gets tremendous gas milage ..my friend fills up like once for every like 2-3 times that i fill up

I'm a 07 fit owner myself. I had the same question in my mind before I got the fit. I wanted the si sedan badly however, not even available in the market back then. I had to sell my previous car so I bought a fit.
Anyway, if you can afford a si sedan, go for it. If it's a little hard for you to pay it off/insurance is too much for you, then go with the fit. | haha i wasn't trying to make a serious statement there |

110hp called fun seriously makes me laugh my ass off

i think we understood your fit-bashing opinions by the 10th post...no need to be reinforcing that. People think the fit is a zippy car for what it's worth, let it be

It blows my mind why someone would buy a fit, and then turbo it.
1)It's strictly an economy car
2)Now that you turbo'ed it, the economy part is now out the window.
3)You are now making only 180* (* estimate depending on boost) which is still not enough to keep up with a NA Civic Si, and now your gas mileage is complete shit.
4)It's a freakin fit.
5)Engine is gonna blow up sooner than later.
Why oh why.

Depends on needs. I think the Civic Si would be funner to drive. But the Fit is a lot cheaper to buy and to maintain. A Fit can be just as fun as a Civic Si, but you'll compromise gas mileage and practicality if you turbo/supercharge it.
A stock Fit is gutless going up a hill but its all you need to zip around town.

Why oh why. | 1) so the civic isn't an economy car right? Fast n Furious style.
2) like i said, the civic is by no means a sports car
3) 180 to the wheels is plenty enough to beat an Si
4) imo Fits look better than the Civics. More practical as well.
5)Build the engine to take high boost. Damn 30+ Psi on a built engine and it will tear those civics to shreds.
Either way both are econoboxes, least the fit has some novelty in it (girls find it cute atleast) Quote:

i think it all boils down to what you really want/need, style and speed definitely go with SI, practicality and cost, go with the fit
i must add though, the 5spd is kinda annoying on highways, if they made fit with 6spd it'd be much better Quote:

Try going up Galardi, good luck with that, or merging on the hwy. even if u metal to the medal it aint going anywhere | i think you're exaggerating quite a bit here, i have a 07 fit and ive never ever had problems with its power going up any hill in GVRD or merging in highway... obviously with such a small engine you'd have to rev it up to 4-5k rpm to make use of all 110hp, but i don't mind revving up a honda engine more often (sounds great and feels great to know you're using your engine to its max potential)
all in all its not gonna win you races but i've never found it lacking in power

Wow where do I start?
1/2)It's helluva more sporty than a fit, turbo or not.
3)Wrong.
4)It's your opinion.
5)Exactly, how much does it cost to build the engine, then turbo it?
If we are talking internals here, must be at LEAST 6-7k when its all said and done. With 2k I can get I/H/E, and Hondata and fucking destroy a 30 PSI Fit, and look better doing it.
5k into engine and suspension and an Si is far from an econobox.
Regarding the bike comment. Wtf, seriously. You are comparing 400 pound bikes on 2 wheels to 2500 pound cars on 4 wheels.
Try trolling better please.

I know for a fact that a 180WHP fit will beat an SI
You really think that an SI with I/H/E and a flash will beat a 30PSI fit ? Lets say we use a small turbo, a 18g Lol, thats still more than enough to beat that SI at 30PSI.
So tell me why an SI is far from an econobox?? does that make the XRS far from an econobox as well?
Trolling? lmao by that reasoning of weight. You've just hurt your own argument.
2010 fit sport ~2500lbs 2010 civic si ~2900lbs
L15 123nm tq @ 4600rpm K20 189nm tq @ 6200rpm.
So that 400lb more is covered by 66nm more TQ? lOlololol damn that SI must fly up hills, not to mention its alot higher in the revs

I know see comprehending the English language is not your forte.
Ok, would it help if I added these? :h aha:
I said its MORE sporty than A FIT.
I know for a fact you have no fucking clue what you are talking about. You obviously have never driven a tuned k20.
Again, read carefully, 5 k into a k20 engine and suspension, are you're telling me an Si wouldn't be a sporty ride?
What kind of idiot would invest at least 7k into a fucking fit anyways?
You are looking at roughly 20+k for a newer, properly built and turboed fit. Guess what, with that money I can buy a stock s2000 and dummyfuck your fit. There is no justification in putting any money into a fit. Period.

There is no justification in putting any money into a fit. Period. | oh excellent you've finally mentioned a sports car. I acknowledge that you've said MORE sporty, but what you are not understanding is they are both econoboxes, thats like saying my apple is a better fruit than your pineapple.
In this day in age, the word sporty is being tossed around and exchanged with the word peppy far too often. I would say an SI with 5k into it would be a peppy ride, but not a sporty ride. An FWD will never be a sporty car. As the term SPORTY comes from the root word SPORT. Last time i checked there were no sports cars that were FWD. Further more none of the sports cars i can think of were ever based off an econobox platform.
PS useage of smilies does not indicate level of english proficiency. However it does indicate the amount of laughs i had reading your rebuttle.
BTW you still haven't explained to me how a civic SI is far from econobox. Lol i should go around telling people that their corolla XRS isn't an econobox the next time i see one |

So....Why would you want to spend 10g for turbo and build engine on the Fit JUST TO BEAT the SI?
Doesn't make much sense to me. Why not get the SI in the first place?
Much cheaper and way less hassle for the same, if not more power? |

Much cheaper and way less hassle for the same, if not more power? | read again, you could probably do a bolt on kit on the Fit and make 180WHP which is better than the SI's 200hp @ the crank. So Fit + 4g or so on turbo kit = win Lololol. I've already explained the benefits of a fit. It looks cuter (+1 in the girls column ) its peppy enough as is, but if you really wanted to spank an SI there you have a way. It's cheaper by shit tons in that market segment. It's more practical. Cheaper to maintain / operate.
